the only thing u got right was the bardock special not being by toriyama, everything else he named was created by toriyama including the xenoverse plot which was originally "dragon ball online" but I dont think that should be considered canon since its only a game..

The goku's family on Vegeta special was a manga created by toriyama that tied in with Jaco the galactic patrol man(aka the lil robot).. that shyt is literally a prelude to the Jaco manga.. and Jaco appears in the newest Frieza movie pretty much confirming him being created Toriyama so yeah:patrice:
Nah breh, those others were written by that chick mangaka who Toriyama cosigns and allowed to write material for. Characters that he had already created but she wrote new material for. He DID do Jaco, which I agreed with dude on. That however, is not a DB manga. It is a seperate manga that is nothing like DB but has crossover characters. Thats like saying SNK is part of Marvel because they made Capcom vs SNK kinda.

Its all good though breh. If people want more DB material then this is great. If people don't like it, thats cool too but its a bit silly to be in a DBZ thread.

Legendary. I can't wait. Also doesn't expect a dub anytime soon. The states has been notoriously late for getting Dragon Ball. Anyways, Happy Akira Toriyama is back behind those boards. The original Dragon Ball ended in 97 when I was a junior in High School. It's crazy that 18 years later it's back with a TRUE Sequel to "Dragon Ball Z". Now he can clean up the "GT" mess by doing this series. Looking back, "Battle of the Gods" and "F for fukkstu" was nothing more than preview movies for the new series.

Dragon Ball is by far the most popular Japanese Anime around the world. I'm thinking really only Pokemon can mess with his cultural impact around the globe. Akira is doing this cause he knows the fans want New Stories. There have been so many FAN anime's and even live action movies that the hype for Dragon Ball has never really died down. Hopefully this opens the door for a new Live Action reboot.

A post One-Piece, Naruto, and Bleach era Dragonball.... I'm listening...

I'll be 100% honest though. I need someone with some credibility to co sign this project. A writer or writers with some top tier story telling ability.

Someone that can write DB to its full potential. Toriyama is not the guy I want heading that department. He has to prove to me that he has learned from past mistakes.

Now I'm cool with him creating the story, the world and the plot points. But when it comes to how we get to A, B, and C I want someone that can bring these characters back to life and give some depth to them so they don't feel like caricatures of themselves.

I want DB to go back to its more serious tone and I believe for it to be successful it has to. We need to feel the weight of "Death" and the sense of "Hopelessness" that DB has been missing. Especially if it wants to compete with the One-Pieces and the Narutos of the current generation. My favorite and I believe was the best DBZ movie was "The History of Trunks" and was the reason why Future Trunks was the best character in the series. Dude was the only person in the series that knew the true meaning of loss and spent his how life not training/fighting to get stronger and to reach a higher level but to flat out survive the next day.

I've said in another post before, if Toriyama wants to have Goku and Vegeta keep protecting earth he has to write earth as a place worth protecting. Because he keeps portraying earth and the people on it as dumb, ignorant, and weak. And if it is threatened or does blow up none of the audience will care because he hasn't given us a reason to.

If Toriyama can make Dragonball Super the Naruto:Shippuden of DBZ then I'm in. Because no matter how much I'd like to be, I'm not going to be satisfied with just more of the same. I want to see a rise in maturity level.

But a new series is definitely a step in the direction I was hoping for.

Yeah I hate how they also significantly lowered the muscle mass of vegeta and goku.

They went from this

To this...??
latest

I understand they were getting pretty ripped but why make it look like they just flat out got weaker makes me mad. Vegeta looks weaker than the day he first visited earth..
