Think of it as parallel universes, while one timeline is moving constantly the other one is simultaneously. It depends on point in time Trunks decided to go back

Though I am happy I was right about this being Zamasu's consiousness, it does leave a lot of questions. Since there were four green time rings than we know of 4 Timelines in Dragon Ball History. But there are really 6 if you think about it:


#1. Trunks Timeline/Main Timeline/Goku Dies/Andriod Future/Future Zamasu and Goku Black (DB, DBZ, DBS)

Now Timeline #5/#6 doesn't matter in this conversation obviously since it's not apart of the main animated canon but they are still timelines just alternate universes in Dragon Ball. Now there are times the Manga contradicts with the Anime and there are times it compliments it. But this is about the first 4 timelines. Therefor there are four Goku's, four Zamasu's (We've seen 3 already), Four Future Trunks etc. Beerus killed Timeline #2 Zamasu. Therefor there are 3 Zamasu's running around in alternate timelines. This is very similar to the "Back To The Future II" Time Paradox where Marty is seeing other versions of himself on different timelines.

So there are mutiple Zamasu's running using the timerings so though Beerus killing Zamasu is relevent to the current timeline it doesn't effect the other Zamasu's that are constantly hopping timelines and using the Super Dragon Balls to make wishes. Beerus and Whis stated that Past Zamasu had a similar Ki to Goku Black. Basically they couldn't read the full Ki because it was "Consiousness" that transfered. So I believe because Trunks is still in the Past, Zamasu plan in the future still happens (Zamasu even tells Goku this before Beerus turns him to dust). What I believe is the other timelines just adjust now that Beerus killed him in that timeline.

I know it's insane but it does follow along the lines of the "Back To The Future" Time Paradox. Can't wait to hear it fully explained the episodes. So Yes people with this news the Time Paradox theory is confirmed. If Trunks never saves Goku with the medicine, Zamasu whole Plot is never created to get his body etc. It's a way for the Universe to balance out Trunks messing with time. We are essentially watching Krama unfold for Trunks, Goku and the whole gang. Maybe the point is Goku was suppose to Die period and because he didn't the Universe had to adjust for that which created Zamasu indirectly.
