I know they try to give Gohan power ups due to rage. Kid Gohan killing Raditz. Kid Gohan killing the Dead Zone cat. SSJ2 Gohan transformation. But this, based on the descriptions I've read here, does seem beyond the pale.

Plus him having a transformation doesn't make sense. Mystic Gohan should be Final Gohan. That forms taps into all his potential/latent power. He doesn't have to do transformations anymore. I could see if his Mystic had a god form. But he hasn't done any god ki training.

The writer is a hack who is just playing around at this point. Im not considering this cannon until it appears into the manga.

Future Trunks was getting bullied by the Androids and came back to his timeline after a few days of hyperbolic time chamber training to literally dust those fools without breaking a sweat. That same Future Trunks was holding back a Super Saiyan God level threat with only Super Saiyan 2, then he gets some weird unexplained power up called Saiyan Rage that allowed him to destroy the physical body of a merged Zamasu that was going toe to toe with SSB Vegito. The halfbreeds always have some trick up their sleeve

I feel like Super Saiyan Rage and the new Gohan technique are cut from the same cloth the same way Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego are. Soon as the half Saiyans feel too much anger they SNAP and boost power levels something CRAZY. Also Future Trunks trained with Shin after (or before?) defeating Dabura and preventing Majin Buu from escaping so they should theoretically be on the same level since they reached SSJ 2+Potential Unlocked+Rage Boost

Trunks training with Kibito is canon, it was mentioned in passing in Super and then got a whole arc in the Kakarot DLC, which is all canon to Z. The other shyt is just ny headcanon

Elder Kai did the potential unlock. But in Trunks' timeline Shin got stoned so he and Elder Kai died before unlock.
