ya the pacing is awful...it was kinda worth it tho when they finally got to fighting

I remember having to rewatch the cell saga like 5 times before they finally finish it. It was infuriating. You'll get like 4 new episodes and then it'll dump you back 20
Will catch this and fallen order for 20 or less in a few months.

They put out dragonball z kai which has way less filler in it, they trim a lot of the fat and it gets more into action. The OG DBZ is 291 episodes and DBZ Kai is 167, just to give you perspective on how much more sped up it is. So for new or first time watchers I'd watch that.
That being said us OG fans who grew up with the show would tell you that the show is better with filler, theres a lot of dope moments that are filler, like Pikkon and the pre-Buu Saga filler.
Game is fun so far. My biggest gripe with it at this point is the low difficulty.
Granted I'm not that far (just finished Piccolo vs. Gohan) but up to this point it's been extremely easy and I haven't even come close to dying.

The core gameplay is fun but I gotta admit the game janky af. You can tell where the developers put the money in for certain iconic moments. Cutscenes are mad stiff unless it’s a big moment.
I like the extra characters moments they gave the z fighters in this. It was nice
Other than that the game is mad fun, I love the fighting mechanics it’s simple but not completely brain dead.
I dunno maybe because I don’t check for Dragon Ball like that like y’all do it helps me enjoy it more.
Hope we get more anime action rpgs like this in the future. A Yu Yu Hakusho game like this would be fuego

I'll watch rewatch Kai before I ever rewatch the base anime again. I know it misses a lot of filler comedy, but I ain't got that kind of time..

They clearly didn't play test this, because if they did, they'd know hearing the same line every 12 seconds drives you crazy. It's to the point where I'm contemplating turning off the voices in free roam. From a gameplay standpoint, I'm finally getting a hang of the controls and getting comfortable with the combat. I do think they played it safe and should have taken a chance.
Most gamers who buy this know the DBZ era sagas. Would have liked to see them run with Super and starting AFTER the Buu saga. Its been 30 years. Introduce fans to the new sagas, because many of them know of them but haven't experienced them. It'll likely be the sequel if the game gets one but Battle of The Gods, Black Goku arc, Golden Frieza chapter, Tournament of Power, & the Broly remake would have all been more interesting to play through. The destruction is even more amped up in Super so I'm hoping we see that on next gen consoles with the appropriate devastation that followed.
