I honestly can't even blame EA. For as fukked up as Anthem was through production, EA was responsible for making flight an integral part of the game - which was probably the best and most complete feature of the entire setup.

Forcing devs to use Frostbite was definitely some shyt. But I think Bioware's been trying to make games that are simply too ambitious for a long time now.
Didn't EA move most of the developers working Andromeda over to anthem with 18 months to develop that game while leaving Andromeda to the B team?

Valid, but on the flip side, the decision to move massive resources from Andromeda to Anthem was a corporate one from EA, to push the live service bullshyt. That move destroyed MEA and any potential it would ever have.

Being honest with myself, Bioware coasted after Mass Effect 1 and Dragon Age was never good, it had great potential...but nah. There I said it :to:

in your heart you all know it's true...it sucks, but it is what it is :mjcry::wow:

Dragon Age was good. The sequels were OK (Inquisition) to bad (Dragon Age 2). BioWare is the company equivalent of a comatose human vegetable. It's never coming out.

Also Mass Effect 2 and 3 were far better than the original. Maybe the narrative of the original was better but 2 and 3 are more fun to play with far less jank.

origins was fire bro

but them sequels were mid fasho

:ld:

Dragon Age Origins is better than every Mass Effect game.

It didn't grab me like that. I wish it did and wanted it to but Dragon Age was drab, the story was boring, and the characters not named Morrigan was annoying :yeshrug:. But ultimately, I was just damn disappointed by yet another white washed Tolkien type game, I hoped Dragon Age would be different. Nothing new except slave elves :francis:

I wanted Mass Effect 2 to be more like Andromeda wanted to be in scope :hhh:. And your right, and since Mass Effect 2 BioWare has just been a lesser Bethesda in every way...and that's saying something since Bethesda still hasn't surpassed Morrowind, they've actually gotten worse :snoop:

Origins, KotOR and Baldur's Gate II all aged better than Mass Effect 1.

Those all were before Mass Effect 2 obviously and I'm not arguing they're not great games. I'm talking about beyond ME2. Further, I'm not even saying ME2 wasn't great, it's just not the game I expected at the time.

True. But Bioware probably would've fukked either up at that point :manny:
Mass Effect 2 is one of the greatest most ambitious games ever made. Dragon Age Origins is not. There isn't a lot in gaming that comes even close to the suicide mission.
No it isn't. :mjlol: ME2 dropped any kind of exploration for corridor shooting, 1 way missions and even dropped the majority of RPG elements to keep everything as simple as possible. How do you trim a game down - yet make it more ambitious?

The Suicide Mission's quality is not the same level as the rest of the game. May as well say the opening of MGS 4 or 5 is indicative of how the rest of those games played out.

Thank you! I feel like I'm the only one that thought ME2 was a completely different type of game than they alluded to after ME1. Not saying it wasn't good, but it sure as hell wasn't what they were going for...they just got incredibly lucky :francis:

the high points in ME2 were dope, and they are definitely more pleasant to highlight than the crazy low points, nonsense direction, whiffs, etc.

from the intro to the first few omega missions you got straight heat. the suicide mission is legit amazing. but between all that? ambitious is not the word to describe that :mjlol:
