Where are the “shut it down till we get a vaccine” people at? So many jackasses.
The fact that people think this is a binary thing is proof at politicized this whole thing as been. Fauci is right if you read his whole statement. We can't re-open too early and too quickly but at the same time we can't close businesses for a year, especially when the government won't consistently help out monetarily.

The Wrong Side of the Tracks
All I know is I've taken the necessary precautions and haven't gotten myself or anyone around me sick. Been working this entire time. Fauci has more info than anyone commenting in this thread and as that info updates, he gives advice based on it.

The cats saying 'he's talking outta both sides of his mouth' have obviously never had to deal with logistics of this magnitude and scope.

Dude can't win.

If he keeps measures in-place to curtail the spread of the disease, he's the scapegoat for the collapse of the economy, if he opens-up the country, he didn't do it fast enough, if the disease comes back for a second wave, he'll get blamed for not preparing the country for the possibility/probability of more deaths and opening-up the country too soon.

Dude been doing what all smart people do.
Hedging. He's not gonna say anything definitive.
From the beginning he has made no promises no timelines no milestones. My dude basically spitballin cuz he doesn't want to get called on anything. Yeah we should not rush to reopen...and we should not stay in for too long either. Oh really you think so Thanks Captain Obvious. :stopitslime:

I agree with the post above. He cant win. :francis:

Too early and too quickly is what on a timeline? The real experts are people who have timelines... unfortunately that Fauci fukkboy has only prolonged the sickness as people were told to stay home instead of doing what science has been saying for over 75 years "Herd Immunity". Keeping healthy individuals inside is never good and keeping the sick inside passed 1 month is worse.

Telling the people go on cruises and vacations, telling the news the virus isn't a threat to the American people, no one should be wearing mask if you aren't sick.

He ain't hurting for cash. This isn't about him being fired, it's about him not knowing what the hell he's doing.

Think it's more about the media and instagram doctors on some "We have to follow the science". Of course, you do, but you don't base everything off of it. If it was up to science, we'd never use microwaves, televisions, cellphones. We would never eat fast food, the list goes on and on. So you need a collaborative effort from all stakeholders.

In Canada, we have a socialist PM who hands out money like it's burning his hands. 82% of our deaths are in nursing homes. 6,335 total deaths for the country of close to 40M people. That's less than 1300 people in the entire country who weren't in old folks homes. The % is so tiny I won't even write it.

Now keep in mind the lead scientist told us that masks were useless. Then she ended up walking that back months later and now telling all of us to wear masks. All this after unemployment tripled. Our debt tripled after printing money an unprecedented amount of money.

This is what happens when you only follow science after the fact because you were unprepared before.

Long-whinded response but the media made these doctors into celebrities. Yes, they are important and do good work, they are sometimes wrong which is OK but if you're basing the entire livelihood of your country off of the word of a cientist...look out.

The biggest problem is they didn't realize that people could be asymptomatic. They were trying so hard to stop people from buying masks they completely bricked the response. How many people died because they thought masks were useless?

Where are the “shut it down till we get a vaccine” people at? So many jackasses.

The truth is that a large part of the population will largely mistrust public spaces and venues until a vaccine or type of cure is presented n proven.

People screaming "open back up!" expect what?
We do so n everything runs back to February 1st?
With the new sickness hitting children who suffered from covid19, people are still shook.

For a lot of people, the foreseeable future is still stay home, get groceries, order grubhub, ignore the talking heads until science says it's safe, not the rich people on TV.

No. Open back up with restrictions. No one (except for a small group of weirdos) has said that everything should be opened up back to normal. But you can't completely tsunami your economy for 2 years. It's outright stupid.

Let people who are shook stay home. Let people who are not, go out. Have restrictions in place, have plenty of PPE available. Protect the elderly and the vulnerable. Time to live with this virus.
