At the end of the original music video for Dre's "The Next Episode", he drops an alternate beat which has come to be known by fans as "Up In Smoke". This mix loops that beat, and places the vocals overtop.

Much respect to you bro

I've loved this beat from the first time I saw the Next Episode video, and always felt it was such a waste of a beat

You did your thang wit this

:salute:

This same mix was done years ago and the song with The Game rapping over that "California Love" outro beat has been out for years too. It was just the same loop playing over and over again. So much misinformation in this thread. Warren G didn't produce that remix of "Let Me Ride".

This mix was *attempted* years ago....but not executed properly. I have the vocals synced up better than the older version, and most importantly I chopped the loops up so that my version has the keys come in on the chorus, and the verses have a different loop. My version is the hands down the best one out.

Yeah, I heard there was a track with Game rapping over a loop of the California Love beat....what's the name of the track? Can you provide a link to audio/video?

May be off topic but does anyone have a version of Don’t Stop with Tha Dogg Pound, Nas and 2Pac? Someone made a dope mix combining the 2 versions years ago but all I can find is the amateur version someone did on YouTube

Above The Law didn't have anything to do with "Efil4Zaggin" except they were on the intro. Battlecat had nothing to do with the album at all. Who is feeding you this bullshyt?

Laylaw Discusses His History With Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Ghost-Producing "California Love (Remix)"

He and Cold 187um has gone on record many times to say they were ghost producers for Dre. Dr. Dre is a glorified sound engineer that takes the canvas set by somebody else and he embellish it.

Above the Law even did an interview with Sway where they said it again.

Cold 187Um never claimed that he did anything on "Efil4Zaggin". You know "100 Miles & Runnin" was not on that album, right? It's possible that Dre stole ideas from him, but he recreated the beats (he used the same samples) and made them better.

The outro is my favorite and I’m mad it’s not the official cut

A lot of people have said the same thing about the outro.....although I wonder if it actually was the official version, and the beat for the regular version was just an outro beat, would ppl just fiend over it because it's something we couldn't have?
