It wasn't a Dre album. He just slapped his name on it.
It's over-produced, can't stand the effects on their voices...Dre in particular. They brought in a bunch of ghost producers and ghost writers and threw Dres name on it.
Dre is a nothing but a brand at this point, he's not doing much at all on any record.

As stated not one skip-able song on the album.....and this is not some preference I like it cause I like it shyt. It is really good solid fukking music brehs. Imma tell you what happened. For one he dropped it damn near overnight, gave no one time to digest whats was happening. 2nd it was the back end of his win with Apple and a lot of people (mostly haters) were turned off by his good fortune and didn't feel like they connected to him anymore. 3rd alot of people feel Dre is too old to change his style the way he did. And for the most part dismissed the sound because it wasn't nostalgic enough for them(but they didn't judge the music for what it is..they judged for what they wanted it to be......classic internet fukk shyt if you ask me but what ever)
I pride myself on getting away from social media bullshyt, I hate "waves", people who follow trends, people who constantly repeat dumbass memes and phrases all day. I basically hate following bullshyt.
I say that to say I can look or listen to something for what it is, in a non judgemental, unbias way and critique for what it is flaws and all. Compton was is a masterful album. I personally like that Dre changed up his sound on it. Sounds like a different newer artist. I like the direction he went. I like how he stayed true to himself yet was able to transition into this new age of music and still make better music then 99% of the artist out today. I like that the beats were nothing like I had heard before. I like the ultimate message and the finality of the project. I don't think Compton is his Grand Opus, but I do feel if there was ever an album to finish out his Trilogy that was the one. It wasn't commercial or try hard bullshyt like Kush or I need a Doctor, you can tell he was back in his organic zone.............I honestly don't get how anyone as a real music fan can listen to that album and not consider it a great fukking album if not a classic effort put forth by Dre........just being honest.......dudes calling it trash have me fukking puzzled the most........but the internet is just one big Talk first without thinking conundrum of dumbass know it all logic......

I really think most people were anticipating another album that sounded at least like the Chronic 2001 and they won't ready for Compton. shyt, I won't ready for it.
But Dre, being the innovator he is, moved forward and came w/ some completely new shyt.
A lot of heads still stuck in 99'; I know I was when this album came out and I was still expecting some Chronic 2001 shyt. But A LOT has changed since then.

Breh, Im one of the biggest dre, snoop, dpg, death row etc. fans on this fukkin planet, and I counted on dre to finish his classic trilogy, but this album flat out sucked ass. "Talking To My Diary" was the only dope song and that one was older.
I cant accept this as his "real" 3rd studio album. This is worse than the aftermath compilation...

Off top, this album shouldn't have been labeled COMPTON.Maybe only 3-4 tracks have a "COmPTOn" feel to it. The rest sounds like a much of niccas tryna create a futuristic sound
