I kind of get the feeling that Compton (some or most of it) was Kendrick's sophomore album before he switched gears and recorded what became TPAB. My reasoning for saying that is because Kendrick's camp was saying he was going to be rapping on a lot of Dre beats for his sophomore. Dre was only involved in one track on TPAB ("How Much A Dollar Cost"). Kendrick's camp also said that Kendrick was going to be rapping with more aggression. Kendrick's aggressive on his features on Compton.

I actually remember them saying this and thought it was true when i heard blacker the berry but the album was much calmer than they described it. Though if you remember there was speculation that Dre helped produce the album under a weird alias. Like dragon-something.

looking at the production, there's no TDE producers so that doesn't make sense.
I mean Dahi did Money Trees and that's basically it, it doesn't make sense for him to scrap all the producers and just move with his own dudes and completely different dudes. There would probably be some type of overlapping with the producers.

There is a chance that Dre probably got into the studio with kendrick, they began creating, and dre asked him if he could keep it and the other producers added their input later. They say dre generally creates his beats on the spot with rappers/producers, and makes changes later

For a dude too lazy to use his crappy PC to download, and a guy who has had an awful time with this Apple Music ... Is there still no other way of listening?

I was going to create a brand new thread but i will post it here. Remember when Dr. Dre said the following " So give me one more platinum plaque and fu*k rap, you can have it back ". Was this DRE's last album? I know it hasn't went platinum yet, but this what i am currently thinking right now.

Def. his last solo album, unless the Detox tracks in the vault ever see the light of day.

Nah, its not you. He's projecting a lot more than he used to.

He used a more aggressive flow along these lines on the last NWA album but slipped into his more casual flow for The Chronic and ran with that for years afterwards. This new flow seemed to kind of pop up on The Red Album on "Drug Test" and came back for this.

Kendrick said he had like 40 songs for TPAB. Some of those could've been songs that appear on Compton. It's not unusual for artists to scrap songs and opt to work with their own team.

4 mics :ehh:

It might grow more on me but I came here for the emceeing....Game, Em and K Dot :whew:

They showed the fukk out, i'm sure they did some writing too so it goes beyond the dope features. Em and Kendrick gotta get back in the booth on some raw shyt, that love game shyt wasn't their speed and they are similar enough to go "rigamortis" EASY.

Def gotta let this ride a little bit but right now it's about a 4, T&Y still got the crown.
