best dre produced project in some time , lovin the different elemnts and intricacies , samples he incorporated hrough the soundscape

if u look @ it from a the aspect of traditional structures 2 songs etc , i kan understand some confusion , from song writing , structures etc :manny:

but from readin and watchin interviews , they went into it with that mindframe of not conforming 2 that side of things :ehh:

projects plays better as a full project :obama:

It’s a vibe :ehh:

Album is out, production is top notch throughout. Some of these songs have 3 or 4 beat switches. Heaps of classic hip hop samples in these songs as well.

This has got to be Dres most creative album ever. Definitely fukking with this. "Smoke" and "Self Care" are crazy :wow:

facto - def better then truth hurts - and 2 do this at this stage of his kareer :whew:

This might be album of the year.

Thrill her is crazy - the throwback to CREAM and then the Sentimental Mood sample flip is fire 🔥 My favourite Jazz song off all time.

Loving the throwbacks to all the classic 90’s Hip Hop and RnB (which were all samples in themselves) - coming in straight in with the KRS/Primo then the NY State of Mind set the expectations high. We know this already but if you didn’t, Dre is letting you know he’s an Illmatic fanatic loool

I just knew Dr. Dre would take part in producing a better R&B album than he has for rap in a very long time :mjlol: I built up high expectations for this just because of that it it was exactly what I wanted.

It took them three years to get this done too.

But it's like Dre always says, he wants to feel inspired. He doesn't have the MC's around him right now, where he can produce an entire album for someone for the first time. That's his thing, he says. He likes to oversee one project and then let the artist learn from that and do it on their own next time. Marsha is exactly what R&B needs right now, and she's still one of the best R&B artists and writers to pop up in the past two decades. So if you throw her and Dre in the studio, you can't go wrong.

It's great he's just having fun creatively and not conforming at all. This is kind of the anti-thesis to everyone's expectations of him.

All of the singles sound a lot better when digested as part of the whole album as well.

I'm fukking with this. Dre is clearly a big Nas fan as well haha.

The aneurism is the reason I think. That close call with death gave him some perspective. That near death experience changed him. Had that not happened I don't know that we get this project from him and Marsha.
