Envy aint no real boss.

He's a goddamn DJ...and he doesn't even produce. Without the radio paycheck, he's really not that big of an influence out here.

Entertainment dudes stay inflating their worth and value. They really forget how insignificant entertainment and all these "hobby" ventures truly are.

define a real boss...

I really and truly don't think a lot of entertainers can be considered Bosses.

The only true ones in rap music I think are: Pharrell, Dre, Hov, and Diddy. Maybe 50.

Unless you own the means of distribution or major channels like record labels or media firms, they're all really highly paid employees. Just like Oprah.

House flipping? Unless he's doing it on a real level, its just a hobby

Car wash? Baby shyt. Especially for someone with the access and resources he has. But hey, thats what happens when you just try to "hustle" about everything without getting any formal education to take you and your network to the next level.

Its the reason why lebron's wife owns a fukking "juice bar" or TI's wife owns a "nail salon" but not doing it on that Jessica Alba level of creating an actual international billion dollar enterprise of baby goods and products and services. Its just a completely different respect for the type of business.

if thats the case same the same can be said for dame and his oil

at the end of the day im sure Envy is leaving something for his kids, enough for them to kick start their own business and that is the main point of the "boss" discussion

I'm not asking him to leave the station. I don't care if he does either way. I can't tell anyone what to do or not do with their lives.

I just have a problem with his reasoning for having a job and trying to bang the idea of being an employee into people's heads being "I love doing what I do" when one has nothing to do with the other. If it's all about just doing what you love to do, you can do it for free, you can do it as an entrepreneur, you can do it as an employee. My issue is with what Envy is actually SAYING, not with what you're saying... if Envy said what you said, I never would have said anything about it, but he didn't and he doesn't. :yeshrug:
Well, I think he was concerned w/ people just leaving their jobs, or just feeling ashamed because they have a boss.
Im sure part of it was him just going on the defense because Dame was coming at him.

No doubt I hope more black people start their own shyt…but at the same time, we need black people focused on being the best they can be in all areas of life.
We need black folks in these corporations...
We need kids looking at a little McDonalds jobs as a stepping stone to something bigger….
…we need all of that.

but then again…Wendy Williams is a perfect example of ownership and being a boss. She low key has more money than most of these cats we talk about :yeshrug:

Harsh but I can't argue with this at all.

I always used to say the same thing - most dudes I knew were either starting barbershops or restuarants. Or clothes shops.

" We are such a strong and capable people-- intellectually, physically and otherwise..... I think there is something about the fact that we survived 100s of years of the the most brutal torture ever dropped on any group of human beings on the planet-- and i think thats what makes people fear us"
