I knew I shouldn't have watched this.

:snoop: I wanna keep supporting this

:snoop: But, did Corey just say he doesn't want to drive a wedge in between the races?

:snoop: Then says he can understand white people saying it, in certain contexts?

:snoop: Then say the word was used to hurt our feelings?

:snoop: And who raised that young breh?

I think its time I canceled my sub.

On an unrelated note, I'm still subscribed to DT but I ain't watched it for a minute. shyt fell off to be honest. The "IT" review was the first one I watched in a while and the constant corny jokes and laughing was annoying as hell. Maybe it's always been like that and I never noticed but earlier it seemed like just guys sitting around talking about pop culture and movies. It reminded me of me and my friends back in the day. Now it seems like they gotta cram 200 jokes and laughing along with it in every show. It's unnatural as hell.

Fred.

I still go back to the old reviews on occasion and I haven't noticed a big difference. They do seem to joke more when it's 4 of them who all saw the movie. When there's 3 or only Korey/Martin or Goodwin/Girts saw the movie they're more straight to the point. The more serious the movie (Detroit and Wind River) the less jokes there are. They see a ton of bad movies and people love to see them tear them down so they probably feel like they have to go extra hard to put on a show. Everyone was waiting for the Transformers review just for the jokes. The It review kinda got silly because of the costumes.

I watch DT at work or on the subway on my way there or heading home. I need the laughs so I don't mind the jokes.

There was a point when they were getting started with DT where I listened to every show, beginning to end. But I got burnt out listening to all of the shows, but especially the shows where they talk about social issues. Between Ray, Danielle, and sometimes Korey, I just couldn't take listening to their opinions anymore.

So it's been strictly movie reviews since then, and only checking in on certain segments when I see people talking about them on here.

I don't know. It's possible.

I think part of the reason I kinda got soured to DT is I remember a couple videos where it was Danielle, Korey and Martin....one in particular I remember was around the time of that "Mummy" reboot....Martin had to bounce early and Korey went on this long ass rant talking about Martin ain't bringing his A game and he needs to be focused on "the content of the show". shyt was super corny....I tuned in because it was people talking....I could relate to them....but when you got the guy that runs the shyt criticizing his friend for not cracking enough jokes or trying to force comedy....I don't know. It's possible this was always a thing but seeing it brought to the forefront didn't help. Since then they either ramped up the number of jokes due to Korey complaining....or maybe I just notice the jokes more because of that rant. Either way it didn't help my perception of the show.

That problem goes beyond DT. I used to watch ESPN all the time but now they spend more time talking about social issues instead of showing highlights. They TV personalities are getting suspended, labeled c00ns, and flamed on social media for their political views. People aren't friendly to differences of opinion in the internet age so just stick to sports or whatever you do. It's not beneficial to your bottom line to dip in politics. I'll go watch CNN or The Young Turks for that.

I don't watch DT for politics so I'm not getting offended. Get to the reviews and fukkery and keep the other shyt.

I don't know. It's possible.

That's Korey though. He's messy and admits to it. It's funny to me how people on here take him so seriously.

Yeah that was some bullshyt. Korey insisting that Martin wasn't into the show because he didn't want to sit there for 10 minutes beating a dead horse with forced jokes. Korey does that a lot, especially when he edits a clip pre-show that he wants everyone to laugh and react to. Sometimes it can lead to funny shyt, but when it fails, Korey doesn't get the hint and will continue to try and "make" it funny, and it's just everyone else looking at him fake laughing.

They are so much better when it's off the cusp and they just move on if there are no jokes to be had.

I don't really take him seriously, he comes off like a clown. I'm just saying if you're making content for the public it might not be wise to air out your co-host or explain the creative process during a live show. Save all that for a staff meeting.

martin is the best cast member tho. if not for him id stop paying for the site. i dunno, i hate to be that guy but spill was just better. but i still just wanna support them. i know where yall r coming from b/c ive taken 2 n 3 month long breaks from site myself. nowadays korey seems as if he has to be "on" for the cameras. i know he himself has admitted to putting on a persona. and it shows.

Yeah, his and some of the other crew members' schtick are kinda wearing thin at this point, not to mention their tendecies to put their own foot in their mouths once they dig into political and socially revelant topics. If that was Spill era Korey discussing Pewdeepie, he would go in on his ass without giving any fukks about his business or brand.

Kory tries so hard to stay in the middle and ride the fence that he ultimately just pisses off everyone. Seriously count how many times you hear him say "I'm sorry", "I don't mean to offend anyone" or "I'm not trying to make this political" whenever he talks about any serious topic.
