20 years from now, people are gonna look at garbage time box score numbers against backups and claim he played well but the defense failed him

This was as bad a superbowl performance as we have ever seen from a superstar QB.
He's not typically great in his Super Bowls, either. Which is rich people problems, because guys who've yet to make a Super Bowl, can't pump them up vs the guy who has been in 5...

But when we are talking about Mahomes on a historic level, when we are comparing him to Brady or Montana or Manning, how he plays in these big games holds a ton of weight. You cant keep telling mf's this the greatest QB ever and he's been this bad twice in the Super Bowl, and in his other Super Bowls he's been mostly average. Can't be that and keep telling people he's better than those 3 guys...

TWICE he's been absolutely TERRIBLE on this stage!

Tom's oline has never looked this bad. he won't allow it.

In 2019, Jameis Winston was sacked 47 times with the same O-line. Brady? Just 21.
Similarly, Matt Cassel took 47 sacks with the same protection, while Brady the year before only took 21.

Brady is a master at reading defenses pre-snap, so he knows where the pressure's coming from. He gets the ball out super fast— there's a game where he had to throw under 1.5 sec. These dinks and dunks move the chains and neutralizes defense. brady's style keep the defense on their toes and off his back. It's all about quick decisions and not giving the pass rush a chance to get to him.

Looks at mahomes. he will try to buy time with his feet. he got no dinks and dunks in him. dinks and dunks are all presnap.

Low key he knows this lol. That's why all the highlight throws in the third and fourth.

And that's with having one of the best offensive play callers ever in Andy Reid!

And one of the GOAT TEs!

Why couldn't Andy stop a 4 man rush in 2025? Get QB under center so RB can help in passing protection and keep TEs blocking more often. Run and then play-action while under center.

Do we see any good 90s NFL team getting killed by the eagles 4 man front if playing pro style? Probably not.

And to add to your point...

Brady wasn't just great pre-snap. It's POST-snap where he blows Mahomes out of the water.

He's MUCH better at being able to dissect defensive coverage after the snap

Mahomes still has a tendency to immediately play backyard football if his first read is covered.

If you cover Kelce well... then Mahomes will look like a rookie QB and the Eagles exposed that.

The dink and Dunk narrative is actually a disservice to Brady. Brady wasn't throwing short for no reason.

Meanwhile Mahomes has become RELIANT on short screen passes to avoid having to actually process or make difficult timing throws downfield.

Breh, there PLENTY plays where guys were open and Mahomes just threw shytty balls

Rememebr that 4th and 5?

Remember the awful Kelce throws that he threw low at his feet?

Reid wasn't really the problem in this game. Mahomes was awful.

I get that.

But assignment, alignment & technique matters. Being in pistol or shotgun was suboptimal for success.

The moment you start blaming the offensive line, you’re already losing the argument. Brady took 20 hits against the Broncos but nearly led a comeback. He was battered by the Giants in 2007, yet still had a chance to win. In contrast, I didn’t see Mahomes make any adjustments, and those turnovers were devastating for his team.

Yes, the offensive line struggled, but let’s not ignore the fact that Mahomes relies too much on extending plays with his feet and struggles to make quick reads. It's his blessing and curse.

It's now 2SBs where he made the opposing D look like a damn steel curtain. If we are going to give credits on the wins then we also have to take points away from the losses.
Look I agree with your criticism, but the o-line was atrocious! Letting go of Orlando Brown wasn't worth it. They have no left tackle and Kelce doesn't block anymore. He had almost no time.

They were arguably the best offensive line in football this year. Stop. The Eagles were just that good and he doesn’t make quick enough reads to counteract that.
