Helps the Astros reset the pitching lineup. Instead of a bullpen game today we get Greinke who still can keep us within striking distance and then Verlander on the road to give us another shot. Either way if this goes 7 like it’s supposed to the Yankees will be in a hurt locker with our fans in that stadium with the season on the line
Depending on how game 4 goes I honestly would save Verlander and Cole for 6/7. I think Hinch wants take a 27 out Rays matchup approach in game 7 though which is dangerous. We have plenty of unused arms though so it could go either way.

The Yankees offense MUST WAKE UP for these next 2 games at home. The Yankees SHOULD be headed back to Houston up 3-2. The Astros will most likely start Gerrit Cole Game 6 on short rest, if that happens.
Also, James Paxton will most likely be pitching Game 5 and he will have to EARN his paycheck that day. It's put up or shut up. Win or go home.

If the hitters approach Verlander the same way they did Cole, game 5 is extremely winnable. Still chasing too many pitches but it was night and day compared to G2.

Verlander is not untouchable. Also, if the Yankees offense didn't go cold in Game 2, then they would be up 2-1 now and not Houston.

Rain day can be plus and minus.......the plus being you line up Tanaka/Paxton instead of using a bullpen day. On paper we should win tomorrow, Friday if we can keep it close tap into the bullpen and win game 5 at home.
Minus being don't see how its possible to use all those arms in 4 games in a row.....

Tanaka/Paxton goes 6-7 innings each..........and we can not overuse the arms to finish.
