Both sides
Loaisiga hittin almost triple digits out the pen
fukk ottavino
Hes not to be trusted
Yes. They’ve had months really to prepare for this team and they’ve been doing the right things until now. They reverting to doing the dumb shyt that cost them before. The sad part is everyone will cry about the pitching when situational hitting has been the problem in the postseason. Are people really mad that Yanks were not scoring off Cole? The #1 or #2 pitcher in the league
Cole will most likely pitch game 6 if the Yankees are somehow up 3-2.well better win the next 3 in a row were not hittin Cole in a game 7 thats for sure
BeFore arbitration they are at 140 million. From the estimate numbers maybe 30-40 in arbitration. Only way I see it work if they trade Reddikk then back load his contract. In 2 years JV and Grienke will be gone.Cole is going to get so much money in the offseason when he hits free agency he'll easily will be the most sought after free agent on the market this year
hopefully the Astros can somehow make a deal work, but would put those odds somewhere around 50/50. they're so stacked with young and homegrown talent right now that it's going to be hard to afford every one
here are the years left on the contracts of some notable players,
Altuve - 5 years
Bregman - 5 years
Correa - 3 years
Verlander - 2 years
Greinke - 2 years (with Arizona paying for some of it)
Springer - 1 year
Yuli - 1 year
Brantley - 1 year
Reddikk - 1 year
Free Agents this year
Cole
To be fair, aside from ottavino, our pitching hasn’t really burned us. Our other pitchers have a 1.88 ERA. Houston went 1-17 with runners in scoring position the last two games and still won both, not even so much because their pitchers, though Cole and Verlander were both very good, but our offense was just that bad. The offense is hitting .167 and is 1-9 with runners on the last two games and 6 of our batters this series are hitting below the .160 mark with 4 of them hitting below .100 for the series, and that doesn’t even begin to describe how terrible some of the at bats have been. They just had a stretch these last two games where they went 14 straight innings without scoring a single run. Gary, EE, Gardner, Didi, Maybin, and Gio are a combined 8 for 67 (that’s a .112 batting average) with 1 RBI off a solo shot from Gio when game 1 was well out of hand and six walks to 22 strikeouts and at least 4-5 at bats where they went out on the first pitch. Give us peak CC, peak Andy, and peak Clemens, and they still might not win even with this pen with the offense being that bad. What burned us was cashman letting two aces end up in Houston. If they end up anywhere else, this team might’ve been ok. The organization needs to make some major philosophical changes though. One trip to the World Series in the last 15 years and one title in the last 20 if they don’t get it this year isn’t cutting it. If the accountants running the team aren’t willing to do whatever it takes to fill the holes in the roster, they need to sell to someone who is. If Cole is on the market this winter, he has to make a godfather offer. I don’t care if it would take 12 years for $360 million, he needs to make the offer.Woulda look at that, a team that invested in starting pitching is going to the World Series
