Donald Trump: No more US protection for Canada until it becomes our 51st state. There’s Russian ships out there.. and Chinese ships.. many ships..

How do you think this fat MF got the idea of tariffs replacing the income tax, annexing Greenland, Canada and Mexico?

Why y’all think he doing this? Or should I say why yall think decision makers is supporting trump on this?
Trump, along with Putin and Xi represent a new world order as outlined by "thinkers" like Alexander Dugin, Putins supposed influence and thinker, that the order of the world should be reshaped in simple terms into three spheres. China sphere of influence is Asia, Russia's Europe, and America is cut off from all European affairs and influence and refocuses on North America and possibly south America affairs.

This falls in line with this world view and those on the far right here believe in it too. Dugins thoughts have had a lot of influence on our far-right here and they seemed determined to follow his ideas. This means that Canada and Mexico and parts of South America are more susceptible to US imperial desires more than before.

Dugin's beliefs are outlined in his book The Foundation of geopolitics. He is a self-described fascist but believes his fascism is a new version that is distinct from the fascism of WW2 era followed by the Italians, Spanish, and Germans.

All states operate differently. Canada would be a democratic state if Trump added as anyway so it wouldn’t work in his favor.
If we get to the point that Trump sends troops into Canada, there will not be a democratic or republican state. We obviously devolved too much at that point. There will be loyalists to the king and non-loyalists and non-loyalist are not put down politically, they are put down through force.

It's easy to think this, but there's always a reason or twelve for what he says. It's a play for future greed and also positioning. As @bnew said, the climate is changing, the poles are shifting, potential sudden access to resources will dictate control of the Arctic Circle...which is already dominated by Russia by sheer land mass.

Anybody with a child's atlas can tell why Greenland and Canada are "suddenly" in the crosshairs. Nobody's about to pretend to negotiate with Denmark nor Greenland, it takes way too long and on top of that they're a NATO member. So is Canada. The US hawks will go along with the grandstanding because it makes them look tough, and their corporatists will think they're to ones in line to benefit.

Don't be fooled by the mob-boss posturing. His string pullers have a purpose.
I said this months ago. The arctic shipping lanes can shave 2 weeks off of the travel time of goods. He who controls the shipping lanes controls the world. But fukk him and Elon. This is evil and a dangerous game. And no we aren't worried about China or Russia.

I can't believe some of you still believe it's only going to be four years.
It hard to imagine everyone in every branch of the military and intelligence allowing it without at least one person crashing out :yeshrug:

Secret Service got the drop all day

It's not about whether he's gonna try it or not, we know he is, it's about all of these people who are just sticking to the rules right now are gonna let it slide

Like, someone could just push his old ass over and that'd be the end of it, I'd like to think this wild ass country isn't THAT spineless, a mob of people would get him and his security up outta here quickly

There will be massive civil unrest when election time comes when it's a Jan. 6 rerun, but in our local communities as well and at a much bigger scale this time around (that's if his bankrupting policies don't get his there first).
they know better. theyre 'fixing' that right now. we will have midterms and 2028 elections but they will be compromised to get the results they want. they cant just strip the right to vote from everyone, it will expose the facade. they have castled and are manuvering towards checkmate while the Ds are still fukking with their pawns and knights

I'm a Canadian.

The mentality used to be that he's bluffing and just trying to use these threats to renegotiate free trade but as time passes, the mentality over here is becoming more and more to assume he's serious. And if he's serious, then i guess it's up on both sides. On one hand Canadians feel like a lot of the people are anti trump so we don't hate Americans. On the other hand the majority of y'all voted for him so i guess he still represents the people.

Personally, i think he's kinda right in some ways. It's true that Canada doesn't meet it's 2% contributions for NATO. He's also right that we lean on the USA for security. Is it fair or not, it's hard to say. I'm guessing there are geopolitical reasons as to why having a safe neighboring country safe and stable maybe helps make the USA safer overall. I won't even pretend like i understand these things though. I always assumed it was a win-win but maybe i was wrong all along.

Either way i guess it's time for us to hold our own nuts. It is what it is. Might even be positive for Canada in a sense because it's like a wakeup call we may have needed. Time to stop being naive.

One thing I'll say, whatever the world looks like in 4 years, the USA will be VERY isolated...
