It's going to be good regardless of the premise or characters involved due to how good Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are, movie is doing to be fire. I don't really understand why a han solo film turns people off. Not knowing his past doesn't enhance the character at all to me

but you know his future. you've already witnessed his greatest adventure, his greatest romance and his greatest retribution. at best we're going to get an alright smuggler story where we already know the fates of everyone involved and two leads that no matter what are never going to measure up to the original cast.
i'd rather a new story that actually 'expanded' the universe than OD on member berries.
Why do you say that? I know two things with those directors: the movie will be funny and entertaining, probably two of the top three most important qualities I can think of in a han solo movie.
Because propping up directors on pedestals assuming they can do no wrong can lead to a world of disappointment or disallusionment. The internet often makes gods of men and that shyt never ends well

If he is playing a "young" Lando, why does he have to have swag? Sawg is confidence that is obtained from maturity and experience; it makes sense to show lando's progression to that smooth, suave, duplicitous character from empire and return of the jedi. I will wait to see how it goes before I start throwing molotav cocktails at my computer.
exactly this movie was not needed at all. if anybody it should have been obi wan or yoda. they need to actually start expanding the universe.
edit: and i know everybody hates the prequels but even a mace windu back story would have been good then you could have went into the jedi council stuff, them traveling to different planets, peace keeping, etc

honestly i think they need to stop with prequels and origins altogether. for one very few prequel movies are actually any good and second HOW MUCH MORE BACKSTORY DO WE REALLY NEED!?!?!?

I get what you're saying but I'm with @Sensitive Blake Griffin as he's my country long lost taste brother from another mother. It's more fun to stan directors these days since the movie star is pretty much extinct.
