Very conflicted as I am a huge fan of Glover as an artist, but I still think a young Han Solo movie might be the worst SW idea yet.

I'll say it takes more than just swag. Billy Dee had a sauve, sophisticated aura about him like Idris Elba and he brought that to Lando. I don't want to see Lando being played as just a ladies man because he was more than that in Empire Strikes Back where he flirted with Leia like once or twice iirc

Lando and Yoda made Empire next level.

The way Lando navigated from being a statesman to hitting on Leia to betraying them to trying to secure their safety around Vader and Boba Fett to freeing them etc. He was the first truly 3d character in Star Wars, everyone else was an archetype before Lando showed up.

He was initially supposed to sacrifice himself to blow up the second death star too but George didn't want to end the movie with two sacrifices+memorial scenes (already counting Anakin) so he changed his mind.

If he is playing a "young" Lando, why does he have to have swag? Sawg is confidence that is obtained from maturity and experience; it makes sense to show lando's progression to that smooth, suave, duplicitous character from empire and return of the jedi. I will wait to see how it goes before I start throwing molotav cocktails at my computer.
