Am I seriously the only one having black biopic fatigue? These are the only dramatic roles they ration out to black actors/actresses

I refuse to support these movies for that reason. We get comedies or biopics and that's it. Enough already.

I hate biopics. I'd rather watch a documentary.

What didn't you like? I haven't seen it

Moved pretty slow, didn't really showcase WHY Miles Davis is so great. It failed to address his personal demons adequately and it became clear that McGregors character was forced later on in the writing process. Cheadle was great but he did not have much to work with, I really wanted to like it but I can't sit here and front.

Just got back from seeing it. I loved it. Always been a big fan of Cheadle, and this was probably my favorite flick of his since Talk To Me or Traitor.

Honestly, it would be tough to call this a true "biopic". Its a movie about Miles, but they dont follow the usual tired trope of starting off as a child prodigy, being discovered, becoming famous, crashing, and finding redemption. Thats actually hinted at early on when Ewan's character asks him about "The Miles Davis Story", which he summarizes pretty funny in about 3 lines.

Best flick i've seen this year between this and The Revenant. Race was a huge letdown. Deadpool was dope, but overhyped IMO.
