You can't punt the season with a 37 year old Lebron and a fragile AD.

You either blow it up completely or go all in.

These people are idiots :snoop:

If the Lakers are smart they will:

1. Put AD on a minutes restriction for the rest of the season. Immediately pull him if he winces even once. He only plays 25 minutes a game max.

2. Put Lebron on a load management schedule. No back to backs, a week or two off thrown in there.

3. Feature Russ. Let him pad stats and get his trade value up for the offseason.

If they make the play-in, throw them all in there and see what happens. If they don't, :yeshrug:

People keep bringing up the Lakers punting the season and not realizing that Westbrook isn't going anywhere next season unless he opts out of the last year of that deal. It's going to be the exact same situation next season with just a different supporting cast. They gotta figure that shyt out until after next season when Westbrook's contract is off the books.

Westbrook isn't opting out of $47 million dollars in the last year of that deal and would be stupid in taking a longer contract in return to move him.

I think they will be willing to move him and have better options in the summer.

This is why benching Russ is dumb. He has another year on his contract and the only way to get rid of him is if he plays well. I'd have him averaging 20 and shooting 47% like Houston by telling him to stop shooting 3s and just drive.

Bron will be 38 next year it’s over breh. Next year is probably his last productive year at this level. You can just throw away this season. If they could have gotten Alec Burks and Torrey Craig that would have went a long way. And to add insult to injury they keep THT :snoop:

This front office is awful.

Dennis Schroeder would have been an amazing pickup considering that they have a defensive backcourt of Russ and Bradley now.

For better or worse...Westbrook, for the time being is who they should be structuring the team around. That sounds dumb, but swapping AD or Bron for that matter for defense and shooting leaves this team with a better record and a better future. If Russ can't get right with the support and structure that suits his skillset, it would be easy to pulg someone in who could benefit once his deal is up.

Lebron can go chase records in Cleveland or some shyt, because that's all that's going on now when there could be some forward momentum.

a lot of teams would be willing to take 1 year expiring over now, zero % chance he plays as a Laker next season unless he somehow pulls a miracle and plays good basketball again

They would, but the Lakers would have to take on bad contracts in return and even then there's no guarantee that those pieces would be enough to help keep whatever championship aspirations they think they have alive. They'd be better off just eating the last year of that deal and starting clean the year after.

Their championship window is over for right now regardless of what move they make next year.
