After the 50 piece he got 31 in 3 quarters on high efficiency against the best team in the league.
He can't score 30 a game and be a defensive anchor on a team with bad defenders. Maybe in his prime, not now.
Look at what's happening on the court. Teams collapse on him, shading him with at least two other players every possession on offense because the team can't shoot/can't make zone defenses pay with ball movement. As a result, he expends ridiculous amounts of energy dancing on the perimeter and driving into the paint into 3 guys.
He can't do that at 37 minutes a game and also be good on defense at this point in his career. It is what it is. This isn't 2018

Disagree with some thoughts here. Russ has been awful.. everyone understands that. However.. LeBron chooses to play defense less than half of the time.. and Street Clothes is Street Clothes. Came in overweight. Only added to how he was already injury prone.

He came in overweight intentionally so he can play the 5, that size just didn't work for him and his playstyle. Miscalculation by him and his trainers

What lakers is missing is AD and a another center that can actually jump .. like..if they still had Damian Jones...having the lob threat would change the offense completely..

A lob is unpredictable...it's basically Harden's path to easy assists..
I dunno what Dwight issue is .. but if they can run Gabriel at center for a minute to see the impact.. they need the lob badly.
