This doesn't surprise me.....
Dominicans gotta be the c00niest bunch of c00ns that ever c00ned...(pause)

I've been to the DR a couple times.

First two times, i was like :blessed: at all these beautiful BLACK women that speak Spanish.

I talked to a few chicas out there that were bartending at the resort i was staying at.

I'm trying to work on my Spanish, so i hit them with the typical chit-chat.

Then I ask 'em:
"Tu eres Morena, verdad?" :steviej:

Them two heauxs looked at each other, then back at me on some

Left me with the :dwillhuh:

:mjlol: @ you trying to get your dikk wet. I did it too, and I never even spoke a lick of Spanish. When I say "wha gwon" they be all :leon:

I read every single post after mine, and I just can't understand the rationale here.
Historical implications say there is more to the beef than simply race, yet people who don't live in Haiti or DR
are using the American idea of race to describe the ills of places that don't see things our way.

:ohhh:Apparently we have some omniscient people posting on here.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Strawman argument.

We're talking about a group of people (with 70-80% of them from black ancestry) refusing to acknowledge that they're black while treating another group of blacks as second-class citizens with race as a major factor in doing so.

How else do you explain this...
KKK-DR-600x337.jpg
???

The Haitian/DR beef isn't entirely about race but it is a MAJOR factor. If it was merely about social identity, why do dark-skinned Dominican-born individuals still face discrimination from light-skinned Dominicans?

Okay. So you're talking about blacks hating blacks..I gave you examples of other races hating groups of the same race...

What do they have in common? Their distinct cultural identities.

Race plays a factor, definitely...I don't know what you're arguing with me about...I mean, race plays a factor virtually everywhere... India, south america, Europe, Africa, Australia.. Racism exists breh...but that's not the root of the DR and Haiti beef

im part black part white possibly part taino.

i dont understand what your obsession is

Because up until the quoted post, you claimed "mixed Dominican" and "part African" but never said you were "part black."

I think it pains you to have to admit that there's black in you. Otherwise, you would've admitted a long time ago that you're at least "part black"

You're a joke man. I can put a pic up of a white dude from West Virginia with no teeth and say "hey, white people are poor in the US too.' No shyt, that's operating on a superficial level. However, anyone with a shred of common sense knows that the number of blacks in poverty far surpasses the number of whites in the same predicament. You're also not engaging the politics of race on a macro level. A poor white dude is guaranteed to have a better shot at attaining social mobility than a poor black man. He's more likely to be hired, paid better etc. You need to wake up man. You're being extremely disingenuous

im talking about DR. u talking about america. DR is a 3rd world country. its not the same. we speaking about DR. in DR the only people with an advantage are people born into money. yes, that is mostly whites. but if u are a white dominican that is not born into money u gonna have as hard a time as any black dominican getting anywhere. stick to what u know before u throw insults at me.

I'm talking about self-hating blacks hating blacks.

But what those self-hating blacks do not understand is that by claiming Dominican but not claiming black, they're acquiescing to white supremacy.

The root of the DR/Haiti beef is that Haitians came through and stomped the buildings of Hispaniola and drove the Spanish out in the process. Self-hating Dominicans would rather see themselves as Spanish (read: white) than ever admit they're black and view Spain--not Africa--as the motherland despite the fact that 70-80% of their ancestry comes from Africa.

Cultural identity is a red herring.

so much inferiority complex going on in this thread

Dominicana hasta la tambora stay furious!

I wish you guys put the same amount of effort in this divisive agenda towards whites...now that would be something.

but then again, you guys are only online warriors :coffee:

Its truly sad a grown woman who is scared to say what race she is on a forum.

No diss to dominicans but i don't think anyone here has an inferiority complex about a third world island.

african is an ethinicity.

black is a race.

I was painstakingly trying to get you to admit your race.

Is that why Sammy Sosa as a black man worth millions bleached his skin? I'm sticking to what I know. You're full of shyt. A black dominican who is poor is in a worse position than a poor white dominican. That goes for any spanish speaking country. There are a plethora of Internet articles and investigative reports chronicling the mistreatment of black dominicans. You're in denial.
