well yeah no duhh, thats what im saying.the "Black" that African Americans are saying is more cultural
thats why most Dominicans say Im not black
and it aint just dominicans alot of others say the same or rather did in the past. I had a thread about a Jamaican women's family who had a similar past
Its just became popular now, for people to shyt on dominicans doing this when prior, the same groups who are talking shyt now back in the 80s, 90s, and even the 00s were doing the same thing as the dominicans and saying "Me no Black gyal"
Now other groups(including americanized dominicans) are trying to hop on the "im black" train.
from my understanding dominicans know their ancestry, but black is associated with us. so thats cool with methe difference in language food music and customs is not even close
I think they understand their skin is dark
which is why i say all the time nonados(africans, caribbeans, afro latins, etc) are not black and shouldnt be. stuff like this shows how blackness is tied to societal customs, rules and cultures depending where you at.if u go to Europe most Americans are not even consider black cuz they not dark enough if u a brown shade they will ask what you are mixed with cuz they are used to the skin tones of people from Africa
They got something like that over there, yet you got dumb nikkas here on the coli saying and defending their "blackness" here with "well ____ is black cause...". it dont matter if you dark as a Sudanese(or are one. lol) you should not be classified as black here.
you are __________ - american and thats it.
