You must be living in a 1% bubble. All those options are way more expensive and lots of poor people dont even have internet.
Are you dumb? Are people really this poor they shopping for groceries at Dollar tree store?
Only time I stepped in a Dollar tree this whole year was a few days ago for cheap Xmas gift bags for all the presents I got everyone
Of course the guy running a strip club has a skewed perspective on socio-economics. Jesus fukking Christ
He’s not rightIt’s a service based business, just like any other and he’s right. Businesses aren’t going to eat into their profits, they’re gonna pass the cost increases onto us. But in the end his business will still probably fail because his consumers won’t be able to keep up with the rising costs.
It’s an economic squeeze in order for the mega corporations to drive out/absorb competition and gain market share. There’s a reason Dollar Stores are able to keep costs at a fixed rate despite increases in wages and cost of living and everything else.
He’s not right
His argument was “we can’t raise wages because then I have to pay people more”
He wants to run a business by underpaying his workers. He’s sayin “the cost of living is really high here, so fukk raising minimum wage “ it makes no sense unless you’re a capitalist a$$hole that thinks not paying your workers a livable wage and pocketing the difference is how you maintain a business
It’s not complicated. You don’t pay people their actual value and pocket the difference. Then when people ask for higher wages say “No “I’m not a capitalist. But I won’t let that keep me from trying to understand capitalism.
Why can’t they use amazon Whole Foods delivery, Peapod or instacart?

you live in expensive ass frisco.$15 a hour min wage has already happened in multiple big cities (San Francisco and Seattle) its done nothing positive except raise prices on already expensive shyt. The people who got the pay raise still live in poverty as every business just raised their prices to off set the min wage... as we tried to warn everyone..
Toll on the Bay Bridge is going up another $1 in January ($6 per pass through soon itll require you $50 just to drive to San Francisco and park for 2 hours............... not even including any other activities. Parking $20-30 + $12 toll if you live in many of the suburbs of the bay area)
McDonalds meals are now almost $10 a piece (got 2 cheeseburgers large fries and large drink on a drunk night 2 weeks ago, came out to $9.20... this is 30 minutes out from San Francisco as well)
almost all restaurants now have a sign next to the register that says due to increase of wages we have added an additional fee to cover this
raising the min wage did nothing except hurt everyone. Its not the wages that are the issue im not sure why so many people dont understand this? Raising the wage will never help. We need to lower the cost of living.. and yes their is a difference..
this dude is giving examples from expensive ass San Francisco area. Higher min wages didn't fukk up the cost of living in those places. Part of the problem is minimum wages were supposed to be update with inflation. what's his excuse going to be when his nightclub doesn't have any patrons because people can't afford to go the club? We are already seeing people leaving expensive places like SF, LA, and NY and going to cheaper parts of the country because the cost of every thing already went up before minimum wages went up. The people that money was flowing too got used to ballin at the expense of the labor class, now they complaining because they might have to be a little more fair to the labor class.that dude is running a business and providing a real example of his costs that result from new laws. meanwhile you're in other threads saying shyt like "i'm on food stamps ", never providing any real solutions, but believing that your white liberal guilt is the answer for socio economics
i think i know who i'll listen to
minimum wage hikes cause companies to raise the price of what they provide. i'm not going to argue that with youyou live in expensive ass frisco.
