99 Cents Only Stores are one of my secrets to the frugal life.

I don't buy is food from there unless we're counting snacks.

Literally bought so many needs around my place for the year and only had to spend $50 one time. Some of the richest people I know shop there, Big Lots and Pic 'N' Save (when more were around).

Everywhere...You never there.
Dollar General Markets actually have fresh fruits, vegetables, and frozen food sections. One right around the corner from me. It's not what you think it is.

Frozen food section came waaaaay up.

Been like that for a few years now... you can make a whole meal from the dollar tree... and they take EBT :usure:

It’s been over for the game.

Idk what nggas talkin?? Everytime I walk in a Dollar Tree...they got some new item from a major brand....:umad:

Luigi Italian Ices...:banderas:

Low key got some nice dishware sets too....:lolbron:

No shame in shopping there for certain items.
They be having shyt in there that’s less than double what people pay for in places like Whole Foods. I’ve seen Sugar in the raw and other stuff people pay all this money for I don’t love dollar stores but it is what it is at this point.

Shows you where the country is headed economically in the long-term.

It’s no mistake and you could see this coming about 5-10 years ago. It’s gotten so that the Dollar Tree is buying out all the Dollar Generals and consolidating.

When this whole dollar store concept first hit I was stunned at how many things you could buy so cheap and how busy the spots were.

Of course its just a huge smokescreen to make up for the fact that people have less and less money and its buying power is worthless anyway and, just like fast fashion, represents a financial band aid slash quick retail pick me up to prevent people from seeing the truth of the situation as it stands.

Eating at them dolla stores ain't the answer have you dead at 42 years old wit super cancer
This. I get that between eating McDonalds and flaming hot Cheetos from the corner store, a dollar store offering fruit veggies and meat might be a step up, but man the quality of that food can’t be that great being sold at rock bottom prices. Preservatives, sodium, fillers, pesticides, hormones...:picard:

But it’s a catch 22 I guess.

I also don’t trust where certain name brand stuff is being made or sourced from when they sell a $15 box of tide for $5...people have concerns about counterfeit items from amazon, I’m sure these items at dollar stores might be counterfeit or the formulations from some other countries with possibly lower regulations on what’s in it. Then again, our government does a shyt job of regulating our products as well :ld:

Both are red flags...

Businesses consolidating/creating monopolies is never good for consumers.

And with the widening wealth gap and lack of concern about low income Americans, I’m even more suspicious of the products being sold in these stores, just another way to kill off this class - it’s been done before from lack of grocery stores, placing nuclear energy plants and energy towers (cancer) in low income towns, poor schools, infrastructure and health care access, now stores selling cheap “food” and “name brand” products...I don’t trust it.

I’ve talked about this before. There was an article talking about how diabetes was exploding in the Bible Belt among Blacks, especially young healthy Blacks and of course health officials “can’t seem to explain” this new phenomenon. But it’s easy to understand if you know just a little bit about logistics. It’s easy to funnel this gmo poison to certain demographics. Just like it’s easy to redirect the Black population by relocating jobs etc.
