On some real shyt, just seeing this lets me know we aren't alone

Learning more about the universe has actually helped me in my happiness and sanity. All your problems are put into perspective and you realize the only thing that matters is what we decide that matters, because at the end of our short time here in this world (the universe is billions of years old and will live on for billions more years), nothing will matter once were gone so you should try to make the best of it and do what makes you happy. Knowing this, you take petty shyt less seriously, stress out less, and are more willing to take positive risks

In a way, you can't actually have nothing. Because the true definition of nothing is basically impossible. Even the concept of nothing is something in itself. So is there really, nothing?

some of these coli smart dumb brehs probably got nothing in their heads
This to the bolder.
That exact sentence still fukks me up when I think about it to this day.

To answer OP, if I recall correctly it depends on the shape of the universe.
It's either 'flat', spherical or hyperbolic.

I wish I had the IQ to comprehend and fully appreciate high level physics and math.:francis:

My educated guess is that the universe functions very much like a balloon increasing in size. In theory you can travel around it and eventually reach the same spot you started, but that becomes more difficult as it grows and expands.

If you amplify it to a larger scale, the universe will appear endless to something small in it, because it's expanding far faster than one could hope to travel.

And as it expands, the makeup of things and how they're positioned changes alongside it too, so even if you reached the same spot, you probably wouldn't be able to recognize it, and thus it will appear endless to you.

Good post.

Just to add... the earth isn’t sitting stationary in space, that’s common knowledge, right? We all know that the earth revolves around the sun. Well, the sun isn’t stationary either, it (along with the rest of the solar system ) revolves around the center of the Milky Way and is speeding along at approximately 140 miles PER SECOND.

Even at this speed it still takes the Sun approximately 200 MILLION YEARS to make one complete revolution around the Milky Way. That’s how fukkin big the Milky Way is, brehs.

Also, stop looking at the solar system like this model:
solar-planetary-system-animation-7.gif

it’s useful as far as the planets relation to each other (and the sun) as far as distance is concerned, but I really like this model:

tumblr_mj0vvcqnZx1qdlh1io1_400.gif

Which shows a nonstationary sun and planets moving thru space while simultaneously making their various revolutions around the sun

EDIT: I forgot to add that while the sun and solar system is moving thru the Milky Way, the Milky Way also moving thru space
:ohwow:

THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS IS THAT THE SUN WOULD RUN INTO A GREATER FORCE AT SOME POINT AND LOSE THE BATTLE FOR ATTRACTION OF THE PLANETS. OR AT LEAST SOME OF THE PLANETS COULD LOSE THEIR MOONS.

according to the big bang theory, yes the universe ends; since it's expanding, that means that it has to be expanding into an empty void. (like breh said you hit a wall like in gta :mjlol: )
edit: that ^ doesnt make sense :dahell:

also according to the big bang, the universe started from nothing :mjlol: ( atheist btw)

long story short, existence is above human comprehension :francis)

This shyt is wild fam.
Universe started with nothing but hydrogen, but where the fukk did it come from?

It's something I can't wrap my head around....by "space" i'm referring to the darkness in which the planets, galaxies, etc occupy....I don't think we'll ever know just how far that goes....because it begs the question of what "space" is the darkness occupying...

Now as for the Universe expanding...it's been doing that for approximately 14 billion years (according to modern math) since the big bang ...but that refers to "matter" created after the "bang" not the blackness. But the blackness had to exist prior to the big bang...so the question is...where did that come from, how long has it been there, who put it there...and what "space" does that occupy?

It's something I think we're not even suppose to understand or is beyond human comprehension
. I read the Grand Design by Stephan Hawking...and his premise basically boils down to the idea that it has always been there.

This is why some have resorted to religion to explain everything. These things are way past our human comprehension skills, as well as how we view physics and whatnot in general. In our understanding of things, there HAS to be a beginning and an end, as well as a physical edge/boundary to everything. But those are our rules here on Earth that we project onto the rest of the universe (even just saying "the rest of the universe" is ridiculous lol) because we as humans have the arrogance to believe that the whole universe works with the same rules we have.

It's weird..and I think this is one of the flaws of the human mind....we are automatically geared to believe that there is a beginning and end to everything....

That being said....by our logic someone or something would have had to create the "nothingness"...and someone or something would have had to create the thing that created the nothingness...and it goes on forever

omgp4Xq.gif

Yep, for all we know we're dealing with a totally different set of rules out there as opposed to those we have here on Earth...but since we (logically) use our set of rules, we end up not being able to comprehend that maybe, indeed, something ALWAYS existed, with no "beginning" and no "end", those concepts just not applying. We see time as linear, but maybe it isn't, or maybe it isn't everywhere, all the time.

Damn...just to think that in our lifetime we most probably will never fully grasp all of this :mjcry:

Even crazier to me is the fact that since all heat in the universe has to come from some type of energy source, at some point in time all of that energy will burn out and the universe with become a cold barren wasteland.

I mean, we talkin billions of years but none of anything we doin matters because it will all come to an end so just enjoy your run here while you’re able to

This just some late night tryin to sleep rabbit hole shyt you find yourself end googling “can the sun burn hot forever :wtf:” then before you know it you’re readin about multiverses, reverse Big Bang theories and all types of brain hurtin bs
