I’m not saying its bad but it’s pretty unmemorable to me. Can anyone who loves the story kind of break down why its so good and maybe hit me with some of the highlights from it?

I think the thing I remember the most is the overall presentation and some of the set pieces but for the life of me outside of robbing banks, Arthur eventually getting sick, and the last big shoot out, I can’t think of much of it that wowed me.

I think my main problem with it is that they leaned too heavily into the same story beats from the first game. In the first game you are trying to kill targets from your old gang, you eventually get the run around and do a bunch of other stuff, in this game have to secure a big heist and end up running around doing a bunch of random things, mid game you escape out of the country, do a couple missions and come back, both main characters get betrayed get killed, then you play as another person who avenges them, the end.

I really enjoyed it :yeshrug:

only thing I’m ducking that game points for is it’s god awful movement sensitivity and it’s boring online

Nope. And the main reason the game is dope is because of the roleplaying (cowboy life) aspect, the characters are written well (different than having a great story) and the graphics.

The story is pretty vanilla, straight forward western shyt. And drags at the end and badly. The missions were too GTA/Rockstar.

The tropical island shyt should have never been in the game.

I felt like I played 3 hours after Arthur gets sick. Plus, the prologue should've been like a standalone experience.

'this is why i feel like the reason I was underwhelmed with the story is the same people a lot of people love it. It's pretty much a remix of the first game. where as with TLOU its completely subverts expectations, whether you liked them or didn't, the sequel was a completely different experience than the first game.

I want more video game sequels like that. I feel like the majority of games just kind of what more of the same and this is whaat RDR 2 was.

No, it was telegraphed too early and dragged out too long.

Seems I was waiting for Arthur to have a moral change of heart and die for like 15 hours.

Devs needed a heavy dose of

yeah, this is a spinoff of that thread which i stated in that thread so forgive me from bringing up parallels between the two. :hubie:

both the games are a few of the highest rated last gen and are praised for their story so i think its only fair to make the distinction. I can't think over another 94+ metacritic game that gets praised the same way

Both are cac emotional porn with amateurish writing compared to any other form of media/entertainment considered to have good writing

People just like to overrate their favorite games.

Niether one of them shyts are worthy of being called a “great story” outside of the context that all video games stories are usually shytty, and they are slightly better than shyt:manny:
