IMO Jay-Z's presence in Hip Hop has stunted its growth (for the very reasons mentioned in this thread) and he needs to be ousted.

Cormega recently said in a interview that the industry does what Jay-Z does. I think because he has had so many hits, power, album sales and lots of money rappers follow him. I think some people really consider him some sort of god as well. I do think rappers may be rewarded for following him and punished if they cross him. Does that make them stupid, idk. They probably just want to make money and no pun intended they use him as the blueprint for getting it.

I always have been and always will be a proponent to get rid of Jay-Z. If he really was the best rapper, outspoken representative for the culture and the people who support it, then I would go along with the program to a certain extent. But when you do things like doa when you had a autotune track on deck, rip off artist, push your man aside in his own hometown so you could look better in a picture, hang out with the president, hang out with that devil bloomberg etc. I can't go for that. He's a sellout who doesn't have much to offer to the people in 2012. Maybe to the corporations he's a hot commodity but not to the people and certainly not to Hip Hop.

Moral victories are for minor league coaches
But I will not lose, for even in defeat
There's a valuable lesson learned, so it evens up for me
Breh, youre seriously acting like jay is an inescapable artist. If anyone thats weezy. But lets put this in perspective, if anyone was good enough to subseed jay it wouldve happened. Cant get mad at this garbage generation of hip hop and blame it on hov . And i aint even trying to mention how no one is selling music like that anymore, jay built his empire in a time where people could still go platinum. There are cold rappers out, but another jay isnt gonna happen.. he's a business, man.Cormega recently said in a interview that the industry does what Jay-Z does.
