He's found the perfect safe lane below the explicit stuff Chris Brown, Trey Songz and their clones put out. I set up my mom's Google Home over the Xmas break where you can tell it to play music and the first thing she wanted me to set up her music 24K Magic playlist.

Chris Brown just released a 45 song album a few weeks ago and you would think he would take a cue from Bruno with atleast 5 of those songs but no, its the same semi-rap/trap/explicit R&B that grown women don't want to listen to.
The shame is you know CB can do it but he always goes to far. CB's doesn't have any idea how to do nuance. :snoop:
For example, even though i think the song did well, this would have been a perfect, classic R&B song but when I heard that damn chorus "FUKK you back to sleep girl" :gucci:

He took everything from MIJACK but this:gucci:

I'm not saying there are NO black R&B artists making good music, but there's a shytload that's not right now. Right now, Bruno is on top. Every woman in my family and the rest that I associate with are constantly playing Bruno Mars, but of course they have the choice to play ANY artist they want that's making good music. Dude is just popping right now.

When Beyonce's or Rhianna's next album comes out and has a hot single with a nice concept then they will be on top...Music is music so I can give a fukk about race, but nikkas starting to get real weird with the turning everything into a racial thing[/QUOTE]

This is a golden age of Black R&B/Soul artists, but you only seem to know about what mass media feeds you. Look into the following artists, who are killing shyt right now:

The Foreign Exchange
KING
Solange
Jesse Boykins III
Anderson.Paak
The Internet
Thundercat
Robert Glasper
Eric Roberson

Plus, many of our legends are still dropping heat rocks:

D'Angelo (just dropped an album in late 2014)
India.Arie (just dropped an album in 2017)
Musiq Soulchild (just dropped an album in 2017)

I HATE when nikkas start talking that "R&B is dead" shyt on the internet. R&B/Soul is producing the best music in the world.
dont forget Daniel Ceaser, Ro James, and Brent Faiyaz

This is a major concern. People downplaying this message for the sake of instant gratification, don't give a damn about the well being of black music.

That’s what I was trying to tell the breh @B86 . There’s an agenda afoot.

He name dropped Bey and Rihanna but he did it subconsciously without even really thinking about why those were the first two names that popped up in his mind. Lol. There’s a reason for that.

Mary and Keyshia dropped two of the most critically acclaimed albums last year but neither one did anything on the charts. There is definitely NOT a lack of quality. It’s a lack of visibility because labels aren’t pushing music by Black artists like that. People like Adele and Sam Smith and Bruno can get radio play on just about every format known to man, including urban ones. But yet, Black artists are relegated to just urban...unless your name is Beyoncé or Rihanna.
