But in an atheistic universe, what would be the point?
That’s why religion takes advantage of so many people. People feel like their needs to be a greater reason for everything. Nobody has any real answers so they believe the OG fairytales. Even if you think organized religion is real. What’s the point of life? To prove you’re a good person so you can get eternal paradise? Life has no purpose or no purpose that we have yet to discover. People who had no sanitation system or sophisticated intelligence didn’t discover life answers we can’t find out with all the tech we have now. Especially when those fairytales helped the elites hold power and stability more than any invention known to man yet

I wouldn't say take advantage more so that most people wouldn't handle the lack of structure well. If Life has no purpose then we all live our lives, some people get given good cards, other people get screwed over badly, but nothing about this will matter anyway because we are going to die, the earth is going to die, and eventually the universe is going to die as well.

Religion is better for society when used

Abstinence gang, escape the meaninglessness of life. Don't procreate.

Choice is inherent, nihilism or not.
Your life. Your decisions.

Religion is the absolute worst thing the elites have tried to use to control 'regular folk' because it has backfired, disastrously, every time.

That's why they don't try anymore and resort to criticising it to get regular folk to stop adhering to it......which, ironically, has had the opposite effect. So, while more people don't identify with any organized religion, there are even more 'spiritual' people than there are those who lack belief in a 'Higher Power' altogether.

Then again, the majority of criticisms of religion are about 200 years out-of-date.

It does if we're being truthful. Most atheists still hold on to concepts that rooted in religion because the alternative is too unsettling.

Theres been more wars and oppression in history in the name of god than the inverse you dolt

Absolute bullshyt. The most violent atrocities in the history of humanity had nothing to do with religion. What happened in the 20th century alone in the name of atheistic ideologies eclipses anything that came before it. Communism and Nazism alone did more damage to humanity than any religion. From China to the Soviet union and the horrors of WW2.

atheism - there is no god aka life doesn't have an objective purpose.

Existential Nihilism - there isn't objective value or purpose to life.

theism - the belief in the existence of a supreme being.

atheism basically necessitates existential nihilism because there can't be objective purpose.

Your definitions are off.

Atheism-- the lack of a belief in a deity.

NOT "there is no god".

Atheism does not inherently make a claim. It is a neutral state. This is like claiming OFF is a TV channel.

The positive claim atheists would be practicing gnostic atheism, or an atheist that claims to know there isn't a god.

An agnostic atheist states they don't believe in a god, but also, the question of whether there is a god is unknowable.

You can be an agnostic atheist, a gnostic atheist, an agnostic theist or a gnostic theist.

Also, to state that atheism means life doesn't have an objective purpose is hilarious. First of all, there isn't an objective purpose in Christianity or Islam or whatever religion you believe in. Once I question you people about what your god wants, it ALWAYS boils down to you admitting you don't know what "god's plan" is, meaning you don't even know what the purpose actually is, nor can you prove your god DOES have a plan in the first place.

Every creature on this planet has two goals-- eat enough food so they can survive long enough to procreate.

That is as objective as it gets, no god required. :sas1:

Black atheists do nothing to uplift other black people collectively.

They just sit like fudge packers at their computers with popcorn watching Richard Dawkins debates on YouTube.

They are useless and negative c00ns.
