I look at movies and rap the same, its entertainment
Just be entertaining
Embellishment is the cornerstone of rap lol

Ar ab could rap as well
And where is he now? Hows that latest album? Beyond the societal impact, on a purely selfish level, if a nikka is really living that street life he ain't gonna be around to give you that music you enjoy for long.

Yea. Just stop lying. Why does someone have to be killed or a nïgga bytch gotta be took for the shyt to be entertaining? You can literally rap about anything. You can rap about your job, family, going to the grocery store, taking your kids to school, going on field trips as a kid etc.

I don’t like being lied to. I don’t require street rap, but if you gonna be a street rapper I need you to be authentic

Edit: and the movie angle is not the same. No one goes to see a movie thinking the actors are actually who they are portraying. Rappers try to sell you on the authenticity angle that’s the difference

Turns out that Special Ed did not have a dog, a frog, or a solid gold bone. Made me lose faith in rap music.

in this hypothetical what if it's less about being the opposite and more of promoting something positive?

would that make him less authentic?

If they promote a positive image but from the streets I expect them to tell the people they been in a negative space and that’s not the way to go.

Yes, and if they crash out the kids need to see what comes with that lifestyle. They need to see you begging the judge for a second chance... Snitching to save yourself. All that shyt

A harmless dude rapping about how great it is to sell drugs and shoot people from the safety of his mansion while he makes his money legitimately is immoral.
And is actually selling drugs and shooting people is any better? :skip:

Say what you want about the former, but at least they're no real victims :manny:
