They had no reason to keep him around after Jay Jumped ship….

Damn could have started his own Cam and Dipset would have stayed and then he could have attracted other talent but Dame was so hurt by being snaked he couldn’t hold it together…

I mean let’s be honest Jay crushed Dame … Dame is not and will not ever get over it…

Yelling at the people who are trying to cheat you, and who aren't from the community was warranted.

Those people aren't black, or from the Hip Hop community, nor are they going to do good business in support of black ownership. So yeah, he screamed at people who would later blackball him. He knows that. We all know that. The people he's yelled at are the same people artists have been having trouble with for years. Dame was the only one willing to tell them about themselves publicly, and now he's paying for it. But it's like Jadakiss said, "Dame is saying what everyone else in the business is saying, but they say it behind closed doors".

Everyone's not willing to tell the truth out loud and lose access in the process. Dame was/is. He's paid for it. But he's never lied about anything he's said. All of the people he's screamed on, are some of the biggest snakes and crooks in the game. Powerful ones. But Dame was never wrong about them. Real ones know.

dame is obnoxious and was riding jay's coattail. once jay realized how much of an idiot dame was and how dame was bad for business, it was a wrap for dame.

i still remember the video of dame yelling at def jam's staff for planning an album rollout for jay without dame's input....only for dame to hear jay is aware of it and agreed with them to leave dame out :mjlol:

This post illustrates how misinformed people can be based on false narratives.

How could dude be riding the coattails of someone he signed, managed and backed when those same people didn't want anything to do with Jay? Dame took Jay to Def Jam in '95, to get a deal, and those same people said Jay wasn't good enough. It's like Irv always says, there be no Jay, without Dame doing what he did for him. It was Dame that fought for Hov for years, and brokered the deal with Russell three years later that brought Rocafella to Def Jam. We all moved from John Street to the UMG offices because Dame fought for that deal and got Roc the backing and funding.

The same people that used to say Jay was "stupid" and didn't know the business, turned around and got buddy buddy with him, to push Dame out. When Dame started speaking on that and the "divide and conquer" that's when he magically became "bad for business". So the plan worked because now people online who are on the outside, speak on dude being the issue because he was fighting for the respect his company and people weren't getting from the culture vultures. My issue with Jay, is he should've been more loyal to Dame, and not ride off with the same people who were clowning him and trying to rob him before. You don’t jump ship on the dude that fought for you. That was foul.

You can do that without coming off as an ass..the office setting is not the streets. Checks n balances everywhere.

Breh & Breh Associates could have handled that.

You sound more like you would prefer him to ride with the vultures, just for the sake of getting a check. Everyone ain't like that. Some people have a little more respect for themselves, bro. And being vocal about bad business doesn't mean you're "coming off as an ass". It means you want the respect you deserve and earned.

Everyone yells in the office. Doesn't mean people think "it's the streets". This is the music business. Not a library. Everyone's not gonna "play along" for a check.

I mean with every level comes different responsibilities, cant behave like you on level 3 when you on level 4. Dame and Suge failed on that...could have just sent lawyers to handle grievances...we all know vultures scared to be sued..play them in they own game.

You’d know more than me, but there were reports that Dame was making a lot of decisions in the end without even telling his equal partner/face of the label. Stuff like trying to make Cam VP without dude’s knowledge, knowing they had friction would definitely wear on me. It was also said that Dame was taking label money, and doing whatever he wanted without the other two knowing, which if true would be pretty foul.

It doesn't work that way in the music business. This isn't typical Corporate America type sh*t.

Lawyers have never worked in the music business. This is why I said people are misinformed. Ask Jadakiss about lawyers. He said the LOX were on their 12th lawyer trying to get publishing rights back from Puff. These executives aren't scared of being sued because they have the paperwork to bury you under forever because the parent company has its own lawyers. So it doesn't cost them anything to be in court. But it WILL cost you for hiring them. These people have been running this same game since the 1920's. Litigation isn't going to do anything in the music business.

What would've worked in this situation, is sticking together and keeping unit strong. The vultures always win when they're able to divide black partnership and walk away with a share of the money. Which is what Dame was fighting against. Weaker minded people may not like this method, but his intent is what more black execs should be employing.
