Yes they can but they have to reimagine it …

Turn them into mixed use properties with condo and retail consisting of non chain stores (local small businesses)

Also the huge parking lots you’ll have to transform some of it into landscaping with trees and great areas and outdoor activations such as well designed parks (with area to host live music)/ sports fields/ pool and pop up retail space (think shipping containers)

Basically micro communities with public attractions

Easton be crowded as hell on the weekends, can’t even find a parking spot sometimes.

Malls like Easton that have modern and cool restaurants or specialty stores I think can survive.
Yeah, there is a lot going on around there to keep a lot of traffic. Just about everything you need is on that Easton "campus" from food, clothes, the car dealerships, etc
