Do you think Hov doesn't want to drop another album because he's afraid his sales will brick?

Jay can drop tmrw no promo and vastly outsell Magic 2.

Yeah he would for multiple reasons. He been a bigger commercial artist than Nas since 1998. In 2023 he much more famous with a bigger platform. Been 6 years since he dropped vs Nas dropping 5 times in 3 years. And he on a major so even with no lead up or promo he still gonna get better placement and way more press and free promo

He will never drop with no promo though so it's a pointless conversation. But it's not a major dub to point out he would sell way more than an independent album where the promo was a couple social media posts. Everyone know that

Possibly but his flop numbers would still be good
He might also be trying to figure out the content. His verses get praised but his perspective now is also a talking about as an activist and capitalist so he’s probably trying to figure out his viewpoint before making an album

naw, Nas just never been a radio friendly artist like Jay Z.. Hov has an entire machine behind him.. Live Nation, iHeartradio, major bloggers, podcasters, Beyonce etc.

Jay prolly too scared to drop cuz he hasnt had an album that stuck since American Gangster in 2007....
Watch the Throne was a Kanye album
Blueprint 3 was arguably his worst
4:44 was forgettable.
Maga Carter was awful
Kingdome Come was awful.
Nas has attempted to be “radio friendly” he’s just not as good at it as Jay Z. The fukk you think the trackmasters were on IWW for? :mjlol:

If these Jay Z albums haven’t ”stuck” what do you say about all these Nas albums that have completely bombed:russ:

You’re like one of those bots on twitter that auto-responds to every mention of Lebron, MJ, Messi, Ronaldo etc with a list diminishing all their accomplishments.
Only difference is you’re actually typing it all out.
Hahaha

Don't recall Beyonce being on God Did...the song that went viral off his verse alone. What do you think happens with a full album, including multiple huge features (Frank Ocean? Rihanna? Kendrick?) and the best collection of beats/samples of the year.
:manny:

If he drops he's not dropping some trivial shyt, he'd be dropping perhaps his last album.

This is what interests me about a new Jay album. I wonder where he would take it subject matter wise.

Hov can't rap about anything heads followin' him since the 90s can relate to.
4:44 was great for Hov rhymin' 'bout bein' grown and reflecting on his past, retirement is best for dude.
Get out the rap game, and move on.
We don't want a second 4:44.
Job done.

This is clearly a bait thread

Jay hasn't dropped an album since 2017. You still have celebrities reciting his recent features. He could drop a album glamorizing nothing but his billionaire status and he still wouldn't brick

Some of ya'll don't realize how much of a :mjpls:fanbase he currently has now. There are a lot Jay Z fans in this world. Rappers included

You can't compare Jay and Nas sale thing because Nas has oversaturated his music these past several years. I understand and get the love Nas has for the sport, but he's the type of artist who should drop a album every 3/5 years. He's not interesting enough as a person for people to care about his current albums which is why he hasn't had a gold album going on 11 years now

To you. You don't care about his current albums or think he's an interesting person, doesn't mean everyone else feels the same way.

And by that logic, that's the reason Jay-Z hasn't dropped in six years. Because he knows he doesn't have anything to talk about and is afraid his next album won't move the Earth like he's used to. :unimpressed:
