Do you think DBZ and other manga franchises can ever replicate Marvels success on the silver screen?

@Dolla$ you gonna neg me, because I said that captain america movie was trash, why would I watch it again, watching once is enough to tell if it's trash or not

all these marvel movies that have been released could all be condensed together in one film and there would still be zero character development, zero plot movement, zero conflict and resolution, these movies are microwaveable dinners to feed the brainless comic fans who will take anything they give them because they are stans period, and that's why you are mad because it's true

demand more from marvel, the only good movie that was actually a film was Iron Man 1

The main villain in the marvel series is fukking loki, not even an original character
thor movies are pointless, so are the hulk, two invincible characters with zero villains, zero conflicts that need to be solved, they should only be supporting characters at best

black widow and hawkeye are wastes of space, serving zero purpose, I'm not even going to watch age of ultron because I know it's trash lol

Batman has more interesting villains than the entire marvel universe, and I dislike the nolan films too except for begins which gets an A for effort

What does that have to do with shytty comic book movies that have worst plots than their cartoon counterparts and equally terrible dialogue

Continental U.S.
The problem to me is that those properties would have to be done justice by Japanese cinema, and the western support would have to go beyond the cult following of Asian films. Being done by Hollywood would result in some b*stardization that would be so awful, that no one would support a series.
Hence Dragonball Evolution

Tbh i think Gundam Wing would be a great live action product

But anyone is crazy if they think DBZ wouldnt do huge numbers if it was the quality of marvel's movies.... Its an entire generation that grew up on that series

no, because comic stans blindly support these terrible movies no matter how trash they are, anime stans pale in comparison

also comics are american made and manga is japanese made, animes are their movies over there and release like blockbusters with great fanfare

Well put

:salute:

:yeshrug:i would much rather have the japanese do it actually. I think most would agree. And theres a large and dedicated fan base in Japan. I prefer it actually when i think about it. English subs will be all i need.

:ehh: I agree.

:mjlol:before all these marvel movies most people below the age of 30 who arent into comics didnt know anything about iron man, guardian of the galaxy or antman. Whilst we have several generations who grew up with manga and we have a whole lot of Asian countries where manga is a multibillion dollar industry. :yeshrug:The potential is there,

We grew up on the cartoons though, they led with popular comic book movies that broke ground for less popular characters in the genre.....I dont know if DBZ was that popular, not to start of some kindve love action anime movement:patrice:?If anything I'd say they need to give us a do over on Street Fighter, since we all know what happened last time:mjcry:n

Lead with Street Fighter which was popular with multipl generationsat some point which is kinda in that same wheel house...if they can pull that off and not make it look ridiculous maybe then they wanna think about a dragon ball movie....the characters look like midgets anyway, not sure how u make that into live action....give me a street fighter and a mortal combat movie:blessed:

You think comic book fans complain when the films don't match their counterparts? (Even though Nolan & the Marvel movies have mellowed that out). Anime fans would be so much worse.

Problem is some of the best plots in anime/manga aren't the most popular with the mainstream audience. Monster has some of the best literary devices, characters and storylines you'll EVER see in fiction but the series isn't a huge draw in the US and you just know they'll fail to adapt it properly. Same with Berserk which is criminally underrated here. If we're being completely honest DBZ's plot is wack as shyt. Even if they were to adapt it properly I don't think its beating The Dark Knight or anything.
