MM does NOT play the same character...I agree his voice does not change but he has that type of voice in the first place that lands him the part
Nah. when you have great performances going up against each other, someone has to lose. That's the nature of competition
Yes the same character type.....southern man with plenty of issues trying to change things in the south. Either a cop or detective, lawyer or fugitive
A Time to Kill- lawyer in the south
Lone Star- cop in texas
Newtown Boys- Texas gangster
Killer Joe- Detective in the south( Texas)
Mud- fugitive in the south
True Detective- Detective in the South
Dallas Buyer Club- Dallas Cowboy
Frailty- Sheriff in Texas
Bernie- District Attorney in Texas
Trust me...it's the same character type.
The reason you aren't getting serious responses is because you made a ridiculous statement ("he plays the same character type!") then cherry-picked/simplified certain things to back that up. You named 9 characters out of his career. He's been in 39+ movies.
at "Frailty" being "a sheriff in Texas". Yeah, if you ignore 99% of the movie prior to that.
at "Killer Joe" and "True Detective" both being "a detective in the south". This is what I'm talking about.
Yeah, Cooper and Rust are basically the same character.
Fred.
Chiwie just had some stiff competition this year....kid of the same thing that happened to Val Kilmer in Tombstone

Wasn't even the best actor in the film
you mean thats the nature of who pays more to win
do u truly believe that bullshyt?Meh it's campaigning just like politics but the company that put out 12 Years a Slave had more money than the company that put out Dallas Buyers Club so at that point, it comes down to the speeches you make, the hands you shake and the people who see your movie
do u truly believe that bullshyt?
mathew m has a lot of pull in hollywood
i saw tombstone last week. val kilmer was a good doc holiday but that movie was a cartoon. wyatt earp is a 10x better movie imo. its a tossup between dennis quaid and val kilmer as doc holiday tho. i might lean more towards dennis quaid cause wyatt earp was better.
as for OP's question, chiwetel was great in that movie but he wasnt touching matthew. maybe in a weaker year.
