which wwe doesn't want either

You're right, I just wish it was the other way. Right now it feels like wrestling's been stuck at 1995 popularity level for the last 16 years. Don't think they've bottomed out yet but they're reach down to the bare minimum of people who will watch every week and also pay monthly.

were in the middle of the indy boom right

If another boom period comes, WWE will not be the ones to spark it.

Bullet Club was the spark of this current boom. This is a boom in a different way because of the amount of entertainment options there are due to the wide availability of High Speed Internet. While it sucks to just have one major company, Young Bucks have paved the way for others to not need the WWE to make a living. YB/Bullet Club Merch is outselling WWE merch. Hell, Cody fukking Rhodes had the 3rd highest selling t-shirt in Hot Topic nationwide.

:mjlol:Not on the level of 90s. It may look like wrestling is thriving because of streaming services and the NJPW craze, but until dudes rocking wrestling shirts just because...we are never getting boom back:francis:

Nope. For the first time, I'm starting to get worried that wrestling won't be a thing in the future.

Yep the way kayfabe is completely gone is just:picard:. Kids aren't even made to think this is real because all the wrestlers are buddy buddy on social media. Heck even wrestlers themselves are calling it fake publicly:gucci:.

The suspension of belief is non-existent and outlets like UFC have the same theatrics AND are actually real.

It's like telling every young kid that Santa Clause is fake. Eventually the thought of Santa is gonna be:camby: because people will have no nostalgia of the time that fantasy world was real to them. Wrestling has all but ruined the chance of having a new generation of real fans like us and everybody before us.

Nah, mostly because kayfabe is dead and there is no next level. WWE is mainstream and those people are already hyped for AEW, so it will covered plenty. Too many websites who can aggregate rumors, too many former writers working amongst the people outside the business. This is the reality era, sadly.

There are things you can do to appear different, but a boom? I just can't see it.

:wow:When WWE finally collapsed and AEW struggle in this ADHD era, wrestling will finally be dead. But on the real, it's never going to happen and that's coming from a dude that goes to sleep with Fire Pro Wrestling World playing in the background. I talk shyt about wrestling because I want the feeling to be restored. I'm tired of the shyt just being a whole joke and some change but somehow that shyt sells. Even when Russo was exposing the business, the shyt felt somewhat surreal, rather than "lolz Wrestling is fake". Right now, it seems like things are going up with AEW and turner and the streaming industry thriving, but in reality it's basically the "dot com" era in HD form. It will all go back to normal once the next big thing of technology comes into play and people will get tired of seeing the same script, the same booking, and the same ole shyt in different languages:francis:
