A group of A.I. researchers are calling on all A.I. labs to pause the training of A.I. systems more powerful than GPT4 for 6 months.
We're coming upon a time where we no longer be able to distinguish what's real and what isn't. We've already seen what mass misinfo does to society and democracies (it got Trump elected and contributed to COVID conspiracies). With A.I. is going to make the spread of misinfo on steroids.
The tech corporations don't give a fukk about society and are ran by Silicon Valley types, who're mostly anti-social and narcissistic. They will not regulate themselves in the way necessary to prevent harm to society.
What do you guys think? Should the government regulate A.I. ?

Some forward thinkers/progressives like AOC have mentioned UBI and automation.
However, these old fogies we elected into their positions on Congress need to start moving, but I got no trust based on how these people don't even understand WiFi or their own smartphones after seeing how that hearing with the TikTok CEO went.
That said, and like the TikTok hearing, many of those names on that petition are from rival companies. They want congress to intervene so they can catch up.
We don't want them to stop A.I's creative/innovative progress, we want them to protect the people financially.

@Mowgli shyt is getting spooky with these A.I. advancements. Are there any books,chapters, verses in the Bible that discuss this issue and what's to come? I'm guessing the book of Revelations.
I'm not sure the Bible prophesizes the million ways humanity is going to lead themselves to their own mental depravity.
Our habits and motivations manifest in the applications of technology. AI in the hands of a loving caring people will probably have different applications compared to self-centered maniacs.

Speaking as someone who has spent my entire life doing art of some kind this is crazy. The amount of time I have put into Photoshop and Illustrator...and now this shyt pops up? I need to start drawing and painting again just for my own sanity.
