Do you get turned off by Black events that seem like “Blavitiy, Root, New Black” type of function?

It's rare, but sometimes I go anyway if invited. You never know what you might learn.

Not really my scene. Seems like those types take themselves way too seriously.

Edit: And it's weird because I feel like this is the natural progression of 90's Afrocentricity (which was absolutely my shyt in the 90's) but for some reason it doesn't work.

Worst thing about Afropunk is that it's been totally gentrified as opposed to what it was supposed to be at the beginning, there's various people who worked for the organsiation (including one of the founders I believe) who went public about how the whole thing was overcome and basically became a bougie corporate event with seemingly terrible work relations, including harassment. I went to a couple editions here in Paris and while the first one was really cool and all the second kind of felt like any other big festival and like some people were basically showing off how "woke" they were. Glad I didn't pay either time lol

Anyways yes I might get turned off by certain events like those, I'll do my googles before going to know who are the people and what are there general views on black men specifically. Or I'll just go for the music :yeshrug:

Exactly.

And it felt like ppl dressing up in Halloween costumes.

I know some guys go to these events because of the lopsided Female-To-Male Ratio, thinking they'll be able to pull. Not realizing alot of these women are flabby and sick (mentally/physically). The most philosophical speakers up there talking about nothing, and submissive introverted dudes getting dragged to these events by their Significant Other like a dog on a leash:scust:

Unless Chloe Bailey herself said me and her are dipping out after 45 minutes:hubie:

Right.. and are we honestly trying to hear Chloe speak at this point?

:mjlol:

I used to think like that as well and it never went well. Just a bunch of pandering guys, “Queen this, Queen that”

Yeah because I know that the majority of the people that prescribe to the shyt they’re on is people that was completely blind to black consciousness before it became a cool thing to pay attention to.

One thing that’s not discussed enough is the fact that the generations of black people that was on black power/black consciousness before Treyvon got killed identify moreso with conservative groups than with these liberal new blacks.

Mostly due to the fact that liberals openly promote the destruction of the black family structure, promiscuous behavior, atheism, and homosexuality, and use Black Death to further their personal agendas.

These new blacks are mostly people that traditionally turned their nose up to poor black people, laughed at poor black people’s attempts to define our own history, culture, and spirituality, and went to mostly white schools because they were more concerned with distancing themselves from black people, and integrating into white society instead of building with their people.

Now that black consciousness is profitable and trendy, of course Jews found a way to control the movement from the top, and the new blacks being placed at the forefront to continue to serve as a buffer class, are only redirecting the conversation from tangible shyt like correcting the racial wealth gap to frivolous political and social bandaid issues.

I had a breh tell me earlier today something to the effect of “silly people that believe in God need to shut up and let gay people do what they want.”

I don’t know his background and don’t remember his screen name, but if he’s black, I know he disappointed about 80 generations of his ancestors by spewing some cac devil bullshyt like that.

This is the type of mentality we’re allowing these people to program us with, a complete 180 from everything our people believed in before we encountered white people.

:manny:my point still stands and my personal feelings towards bougie black folks, nikka nerds and nikka nerd adjacent doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things.

again, pre-2014 the same things people said about the shea butter people was the same things they said about pan-africanist/afro-centrics so it's really full circle at this point.
I fit in more with the new blacks. :manny:

It's well known that you hate bourgie blacks and "nikka nerds." :comeon:
