I'll give him the Bears W but aint nothing he really did against the Saints that I dont think Smith couldnt have. With that said I agree with everything else you said. With Smith he's been in the league 7 years, we know what he IS. Slightly better than a game manager (very slight). He isnt winning you any SBs (he wont be the reason you lose but he isnt that QB that you goin need). If you take a look at the QBs who have won the last however many SBs (Eli, Rodgers, Ben, Peyton, Brees, Brady) Smith isnt and will never be close to that. Kaep has shown that AT THE VERY LEAST he can do for you what Smith has and has the ability to take it EVEN FURTHER into possibly being close to what the elites can do for you.

The Ravens are gonna figure this about Joe Flacco (they just dont have a better option at the moment)

Some of the throws kaep made smith wouldnt even attempt, and some of the sacks kaep avoided, smith woulda took. One thing you gotta realize is that the stats dont tell the whole story. Smith was very careful with the ball, almost to a fault. We were horrible on 3rd down, towards the bottom in passing yards and passing tds. Our fg kicker set a record for points in a season. Bottom line is kaep was a second round pick and had the skillset to open up the offense so we dont have to rely on the defense so much. If you watched that game today you'll see a drive where we had an almost 10 minute drive where we converted 4 3rd downs 3 by passing, Smith would have thrown the ball out of bounds or taken a sack on some of those plays. Kaep took chances and trusted his arm which smith wouldnt have done and that automatically makes the pass game much more effective which makes the run even more dangerous which would or could make san fran unstoppable.

Alex Smith is probably the only white QB I'll ever feel sorry for. Yes he is average and yes he is a game manager, but IMO he didn't do anything to lose his job. I am impressed by Kaepernick, but I do feel sorry for Smith

Edit: Just saw the man's wife. This chick is :ohlawd:

No I do not feel sorry for him

I guess the writing is on the wall for Alex. He'll probably get released this offseason and sign on with another team. The only question would be with who and would he be a starter.

I feel bad for in him in a sense that he didn't play bad to lose the job just got hurt. Don't care who puts up better stats as long as the 49ers leave with a win. And for the past 2 seasons Alex has won. :yeshrug:

I do, he is having his best statistical season and his play has been consistent, a cruel twist of fate has seen him lose his job. That has to be a bitter pill to swallow

What's funny is that Kap had an Alex Smith type of game today. The defense got them the win.

But then the sympathy is going to keep on coming. He's going to go to another team, possibly struggle (or be what he is which is a game manager) and its going to be blamed on the fact that this is his 10th offensive coordinator in his career or whatever (blah blah).

To prove himself IMO he should goto KC. Thats a team that has ALOT of talent imo (idk why they are so bad). If he can go there and turn them into a respectable team then the sympathy will be well warranted, other than that I cant even fault Harbaugh for doing what he's doing.

He will then go from savior to 'he a rookie tho'

He's bound to have a bad game, thats maybe why he made the change now. That way he can take his lumps while we can afford those mistakes.

Dont get me wrong, i dont dislike alex smith, I actually like him a lot. I actually was rooting for him but thats why I'm not a coach, but I do realize that kaep has a higher ceiling. Could be a favre rodgers situation or brady bledsoe situation. Not saying smith is either of those qbs but as much as I like smith I realize there's certain things he cant do, or wouldnt do. That why his qb rating high and turnover ratio was low but yards and tds were in the bottom 3rd of qbs. If yoi watch the niners play you know why that is.
