I used to think so because they were hotter in their short time on top but Flairs cultural resurgence this generation has made me reconsider. Rock and Austin are very much still products of the 90s which we haven't fully revisited yet. Flairs mannerisms, phrases, etc are somewhat timeless. He might have the edge.

Makes me wonder what Me Too/Cancel Culture would think of Macho Man if he were still around. He was just starting to involve himself back in wrestling before he passed.

How did he pass away? I forgot he was even dead.

Hogan maybe 15 years ago but the Rock passed him with the changing of generations... It's not 1989 anymore.... Hogan at this point is like a b- level celebrity... Rock is easily more famous and recognizable..

Heart attack while driving:mjcry:
He had a fatal car crash plus a fatal heart attack?:dwillhuh:

The first time I ever saw him was on YouTube and he was handing a CD to 50 Cent which made me go back and find out who he was. That led me down the rabbit hole to finding about the roided up fukkery of Ultimate Warrior who I didn't even know he existed. :wow:

Vince really knows how to bury his own stars.:mjlol::francis:

Yes.

Hogan, Austin, & Rock. The top 3 names that I consider way bigger than Flair. I'm not disputing Flair as being one of the GOATS of wrestling I just think the other 3 names had a greater impact on bring wrestling to the mainstream and elevating the industry.

Hogan in the 80s was had a much bigger platform and had more big time matches with guys like Piper, Orndorff, Andre, & Savage across the country and was showing up on TV shows left & right (Carson, SNL, A-Team).

Flair was stuck down in the mostly in the South doing matches w/Dusty Rhodes, Windam, Sting, & Steamboat. The problem with that was that NWA/WCW was still stuck into the territory era where most of the big time matches were in NC, Florida, & Georgia whereas Vince was taking the WWF w/Hogan all across the country and promoting big time matches.

By the time Austin/Rock came around, the times in the wrestling industry had changed and a new generation fans wanted something different.

You’re not taking into account his LONG Hogan was famous for or how shyt worked in the 80s.

No, in 2019 hogan is not as big as he used to be. But EVEYONE stilll knows who he is. They knew who he was in the 80s when there was barely any tv channels. He was in a fukking rocky movie. I would say from 1983 to 2008 which is 25 years. Even his reality show did well. Rock was huge from 1999 to 2002 and then got a resurgence in 2012 to now. I’m not saying rock isn’t big but hogan was much bigger for much longer pause:dame:
