Am I the only black person who doesnt do this? My mom, sister and a chick I was messing with earlier this year looked at me crazy when I dont wash my meat before cooking.

In fact my mom insists that its "white people shyt" not to wash it when I tell her that it makes no sense.

But it doesnt tho....Water doesn't do anything but spread bacteria. Bacteria dies by cooking the meat hot enough.

Only thing you might wash off is some preservative used in the packing phase.....right?

Growing up, I always seen the meat getting "washed"

Just checked in on my grandmother yesterday and she was in the kitchen washing some meat, gettin ready to chef up....

I thought that was just some regular shyt that people do

Nah that's stupid because that's the whole purpose of cooking it in the first place we do it for taste nowadays but really it's to make the meat easier to digest and get rid of a lot of the bacteria and impurities in the meat. Washing the meat would just wash all the germs and bacteria down into your drain system.

I wash vegetables and fruits more so especially if I'm not deep cooking them and it make them taste better coming off a fresh rinse.
