Pacific Rim was an important opportunity for Boyega, as it was the rare chance to assume the lead role in a luke warm intl franchise trying to course-correct itself into being the next big thing ala Fast and Furious, and Transformers. Basically his chance to take the Vin Diesel role in a niche franchise that seemingly should have an audience (giant fukkin robots and monsters)....
...but the trailer wasn't that impressive, the serious moments look more corny than cool, and it seems to have very little buzz in the US. And after Star Wars, the jury is still out on whether the film even stars him or if it's just another okie doke for a caccette
So in short, I like his acting ability since attack the block but idk how many more lead roles for franchises he'll get now that star wars was a pump fake and Pacific Rim may still be rudderless/trash. He may end up in more of "the Circle" type movies where he's more of the 3rd or 4th wheel.
