Do y'all take this as Cam and Mase disrespecting Big L or being truthful?

Big L was smoking shyt when he was alive.

There was more of a buzz for him than Cam when they was all alive so you never really know how things would of turned out.

Cam went on to become the biggest out of the children of the corn. No1 saw that coming in the 90s.

:mjtf:Ngga…this is exactly what cam and mase talkin bout.

We can throw out opinions and just do the math:

1995- Big L debut album. It flops. Big L is still alive

1997- Biggy dies. Right before that he co-signs Cam demands Cam gets a deal ——the king of NY, biggest rapper in the world demands cam is signed. Big L is still alive

1998- Cam blows pause. Confessions of Fire #2 album in the country. Horse and carriage smash single. Big L is still alive

1998- Banned from TV. An iconic song. A song with L’s DITC mans Pun. But L ain’t on it Cam is. Big L is still alive

Big L died in 99. After Cam has blown up and Mase is a superstar. Your take is exactly why they reacted like that. It’s hard to just sit there and watch nggas who wasn’t there b*stardize history. Especially as confidently and ignorantly as Wallo was doin

On a side note - I heard great things about Cam and Mase's podcast - also that Can stated he quit rap. But I don't think that's a good look. Mase quit years ago.

Why not stick to the one thing you Excell at for life? Like Jimi Hendrix, Marley, Lennon, Method Man, Krs?
so you saying mef is a terrible actor?

He's been doing acting for a while now, and occasionally drops music

You're talking to the nikka who claims Dipset made Roc-A-Fella hot, he's wildly off base about everything :mjlol:

Maybe so but L’s album is way better than Confessions of Fire to me.

Cam came out way more popish and hip hop was way bigger and different in 97/98 than when L started writing and recording his album in 92.

if Big L was a ball player he would have a great highlight mixtape, Mase came in rookie of the year then fell off, Cam is say... a Melo, had the great career which in turn should've been better than what it was.

all legends
I don't know about your analogy because L was far better than a mixtape highlight And1 baller which is what I consider a highlight reel type cat, one who lacks fundamentals and can't really play in a structured environment which is the antithesis of Big L.

I liken L to Benji or Len Bias, young guys that were renowned by those who in the know as well as their peers but who had their lives cut tragically before they could reach their pinnacle due to some unfortunate decisions and horrible luck...

I like Cam and Mase but I don't know where I would what players I would compare them to nor do I care enough to put that much thought into it :manny:

Also imo it’s a lil disrespectful because L knocked down the door for spitters from Harlem.

He was the founder of Children of the Corn, the first to get a deal, release an album, he put on Cam and Mase or at least those recordings together would be the demos that got them signed

Before L who from Harlem was popping that was a spitter?

I knew what they said was gonna be seen as "controversial" on social media, because like you said, it's a lotta nikkas who wasn't there speaking from a place of 20/20 hindsight and revisionism about L.

And L was GREAT. A crazily underrated MC when he was alive that could've been on the verge of becoming a big deal on his second try, but we'll never know.

He still had plenty of time left on the clock, being only 24. But as dope as he was, it's fair to say he was never at a pinnacle. And even if I don't agree with everything they say in this clip, the fact that nikkas wanna really argue and hold contempt with two people who were there and knew all these individuals is crazy :russ:
