lol no the fukk it didn'tnikkas say they hate the BCS but it got it right more often than wrong. Only thing "equitable" is the G5 schools get in and get a shot to get blown out in R1. MWC Boise State and TCU wish they had this system.

FSU fan throwing shots because.....?We have a ten year sample size of the 4 team playoff. Avg margin of victory of the semi's is 18 pts. 2023 was the first year that both games ended with a single digit margin of victory.
2014: 7 & 39
2015: 20 & 38
2016: 17 & 31
2017: 18 & 6
2018: 11 & 27
2019: 35 & 6
2020: 17 & 21
2021: 21 & 23
2022: 1 & 6
2023: 7 & 6
BCS got the title games right more times than not, unless you're a fan of blowouts and like hearing Herbstreit & Fowler go deep in their notes trying to find something to keep people tuned in (or a disillusioned SoCal football fan).
anyway, the numbers prove my point. R1 has mostly been a dud. Expanding the field won't do shyt to change that. There's a reason ESPN subleased 2-3 of the R1 games to TNT. Hell, the conferences didn't even get the $$ they thought they were going to get for the first round. All because history has shown they've been blowouts and will continue to be so. You might get one classic. CoolFSU fan throwing shots because.....?
Breh im just talking about the BCS being better. It wasn't. Just off the dome:anyway, the numbers prove my point. R1 has mostly been a dud. Expanding the field won't do shyt to change that. I've been watching since the beginning. Fine, you pulled 5 out of 16 years. Every fukkin year of this invitational tourney has been unwatchable (minus the past two seasons). Adding more teams doesn't fix that. It's a TV product. Not a product based on merit. Been since the BCS but at least the folks running the BCS had the nuts to tweak the formulas. These mf's on the committee are just making it up as they go. Heard the term game control lately? Strength of schedule don't matter anymore. It's strength of record. They're using Saragin, FPS, DVOA and other shyt to make judgements. Just leave it to the computers if that's the case. At least we know the computers aren't just scoreboard watching and being swayed by Barry Alvarez making pleas in the conference room at some Marriott out by DFW. And again, THERE ISN'T 12 TEAMS WORTHY OF PLAYING FOR THE TITLEBreh im just talking about the BCS being better. It wasn't. Just off the dome:
2003: Oklahoma blew out vs KState but still made the title game
2004: Auburn is left out with a perfect record
2007: Straight fucckery. Multiple two loss teams that could have been in over LSU but whatever.
2008: Same thing. Texas & USC left out of a title shot even though they had the same record as Florida and Oklahoma.
2011: SEC shyt
And that's not even getting into the times Boise/TCU got screwed. Cal getting politicked out of the rose bowl, and everything before I really started watching in 03.
Nobody has a gun to your head forcing you to watch the first round games. I don't like the expansion either, I thought 4 was perfect.I've been watching since the beginning. Maybe I should have worded it differently. I’m saying the playoffs took the prestige out of the bowl games. Specifically the lesser ones. That’s the perception… is the interest still there as it once was? If it was, a lot of players wouldn’t be opting out as they are now.You miss that it took the prestige out of all of the bowl games?
I don't follow. Break it down.
I think this is why I prefer the extended playoff format more. A team like Boise State can now have the chance to play for the title. Whereas the year they went undefeated, the best you can get is a lesser BCS game(OU vs Oklahoma). After they were able to defeat OU, the what if comes into play. Now we’re steps closer to removing the what ifs…My squad would have never have a chance in hell without the. CFP...UNLV football is going to shock the world this year
