How do they build his confidence?
He doesn't lack talent at the WR position.
Simplify the offense and scale back on the freedom has to check and audible at the line.

They went with an approach of giving him everything he can handle with the playbook and so far it's clearly too much information and he's struggling. They running the offense like he is prime Manning or Rodgers in terms of the power he has at the line.

Going off of the press conference from Eberflus after this game, sounds like Waldron is getting demoted or fired tomorrow heading into the Green Bay game.

Despite the line issues, Caleb has still been woefully inaccurate all season. It's concerning considering that was never a knock on him. We're seeing a guy that was billed as being a system offensively, but it's clear he's not nice enough to overcome mediocre play calling and line problems because of his accuracy.

People have to just understand that every college QB isn't gonna be a good pro, no matter the stats or what Mel Kipers says.

yup and hell it takes time, people wrote off baker mayfield
now hes on pace for 4,000 passing yards and 41 td and is a franchise qb

So it has to be asked ...

How confident is this board that Cam Ward will be successful at the NFL level given that he doesn't exactly play in a pro style offense at Miami?

It sure seems like a lot of these QBs that sit back in shotgun all game struggle in the NFL.

Yep some will come in day 1 and be ready to go like Jayden Daniels or Dak or Purdy their first years

Some will need to bounce around before they find a good fit like Geno, Mayfield, Darnold

Others will suck

Several factors. Not only Do you need a quality QB that can develop, you need a man organization from the top on down that can develop a QB. Theirs a reason why certain organizations always seem to be successful and others not and it starts with ownership and management. Egos, coaching changes etc all factoring in too

Next, I'm of the belief that's there's really and truly only like 6-10 elite QBs in the league at any time and only like 3-4 that are SB winning quality or better, barring some perfect storm of having the 2000 Ravens defense or something that can make up for mediocre QB play.

Based on the meaning of the word, there are even less. The problem is elite QB and QB have been conflated. Every QB is treated like they are elite both in terms of pay and responsibility. The best orgs put their QB in the best position to succeed instead of sitting back and hoping the QB will lift them.

they have the equation backwards

great team comes first

they keep putting the qb first & that's the most team dependent position

That's why you see dumb ass responses like "they had to do it" when a team signs a mediocre quarterback to a big deal. It's disgusting. When an organization chooses to keeps a subpar quarterback(Jones) over an elite running back(Barkley) and idiot fans try to justify it, you just have to laugh
