Do you feel sorry for these teachers not getting paid enough?

Before I start let me tell you it's my birthday. 24 years old :blessed:

Anyway, most of these teachers get a credit when they teach inner city kids (cac teachers). Nowadays, you have teachers complaining about low salary in the public school system. Should they receive higher pay?

Why or why not?

Another thing, I hear this myth of Black parents not being involved in their child's education. That shyt aint true. When I went to school I saw a whole load of Black parents being involved in PTA's. Stop believing those crackas  Also, most if these parents work.

Most of the time these parents are at work. So, they can't be there 24/7. Once highschool comes it's really the responsibility of the child.

A lot of teachers are trash. When I used to tutor, the teacher have incorrect grammar, don't know anything without the answer book or guide book. A lot of them aren't qualified to teach but we need educators and so that's that. If they raised the salaries and made the jobs more competitive, it'd be worth it, but honestly, only a handful of teachers are actually good at their jobs. The rest are just there to collect a check.

Working in one of the worst school systems in the country, I can tell you this. Some do, some don't. I know some teachers who really have the gift. Like I know a Pre-Calculus teacher who knows how to break down math to kids. (And he's White). But guess what? He wanted more money so he left our school and went to Cass for a better position (the school Big Sean went to). Now they literally have only one good math teacher left (she's a sista). The rest of the math teachers suck. Kids are bored. Kids say those teachers dont teach. It sucks.

I don't know how it could be done but I believe teacher performance should be a factor in that. Test kids before the class. Then test kids after the class is done. If you see overall improvement in alot kids, give that teacher a pay raise.

But the key thing is to have your best teachers teach in the 9th grade as Pedro Noguera says. Help them to get the foundation, and they can survive the sucky teacher better.

@Lesfilles to add to that point. I have proof-read papers for kids. A close to 4.0 student had some of the worst grammar I have read. She basically wrote how she talked. I'm not saying ebonics but it wasn't formal language either. If I was grading it she would receive an F. But in poor schools, it's just acceptable. And when they get to college they're going to get destroyed.

Teachers need to be paid more, period. They are charged with teaching kids, mentoring them and all other things @thatdude901 mentioned. And they get all the blame for kids failures, too. Should be paid a lot more.

I won’t even touch the issue of black parents not caring enough about their kids education. I don’t have enough time to breakdown that bullshyt statement.
