It's got to be more to it than this...
You don't need a classification to know a person is white, white peoples KNOW who's white and who is "suspect" they'll even ask a white looking mixed breed about "where you get that lovely tan"
NOW the reason they "classify" Arabs, Indians and Chinese as white in different times in history and different countries is simply a means to an end. They know in South Africa that a gook China man is not white, but in order to finenese maybe a mining rights contract or a factory in Hong Kong they'll classify the MINORITY Chinese population in a said county strictly for business purposes, in order to secure resources for themselves and future generations. This is called geopolitical maneuvering.
There is NO need to classify whiteness, redheads, blondes etc have been anti anything non white since they made contact with malenated people. There has always been an "us" and "them" from the jump, long before Europeans were unified under this "white" "Western" identity.
Black people in "counter racism" circles tend to lack critical thinking and pattern recognition and instead regurgitate Neely Fuller's talking points without truly understanding collective human behavior power systems, non mainstream history etc their entire world view and points are based almost entirely on Fuller and thus if you pose a deeper question than what Fuller suggests they can't give satisfactory answers
