Yo this playoff baseball has me depressed, how are the Pirates and Royals in but not us? :why:
There's no reason we shouldn't be this inept these past two years. Mets should have traded for Braun; Cargo, or Tulo last year.

With that said, should we even have a off-season thread this year?

That shyt might end up being three pages long. Keep it in here until 2015.

damn is it too soon for the offseason thread?

Off-season through spring training is prime time to be a Mets fan. Instead of eating shyt dinner of failure and mediocrity we upgrade to speculation and hope.

I think Joel Sherman wrote that the Mets should try to help facilitate a 3-team trade that would land Stanton in Boston, Cespedes in queens and the Mets sending prospects to Miami, probably pitching. Sounds like :ducktales: but Cespedes would go a long way towards making this line up more dangerous if he could be had for just one pitcher. And not any of Harvey, DeGrom, or Wheeler.

Still would need a lead off hitter. Some people are trying to say Jose Reyes but I know that's not going down. Mets have been ASS out of the leadoff spot since Pagan got traded. I don't think Lagares should lead off, ideally hit him 7th.

i could fukk with that
castro and cruz

We ain't seein Cruz, bruh; I'm sure in order to sell him on playing at Citi and losing HRs, they'd have to pay out the butt.... My only fear with Castro is that the homie Theo is gonna try and bend us over in that deal, tryna run our pockets for all our young arms. I really like that young kid Baez for short, but apparently the Cubs are gonna try him at 2B.

We're in a pitchers age, anyway, so I'd almost rather NOT go after big bats, but build the team like the Cardinals of the mid 80s. Them n1ggas had a bunch of rabbits and gap hitters, and maybe one or two big bats. I remember one year some cat on their team drove in over 100 runs but only had like 12-13 homers.

Yeah. I doubt we would even go after Cruz. But they are supposedly bringin in the fences again. I wouldn't give up too much for Castro tho

I would actually strongly consider Harvey for Stanton, although the Marlins aren't doing that deal straight up; that deal would have to include like 3 other players, I think. I'm just thinking of including a deal with Harvey if it fits just because I got this weird feeling he's gonna hop the train uptown to the Bronx when he gets the chance.

What makes me more willing to trade Harvey is the fact that its so hard to see him resigning with us. The front office/ownership has been an a$$hole towards him every step of the way and the media constantly tries to get him in trouble.

Someone like Harvey should be beloved by ownership not nagged at because they cant micromanage him the way that they want.
