I still got a SJ coat in the closet I rock from time to time. These Detroit winters are hard on a player and if I can get a good coat for under $100

Nikkaz real quick to rag on clothing made by black entrepreneurs, and stay rockin brands made by people that don't want you to rock them. With that being said, I can't rock w/ Fubu because those bright azz colors are not my thing, but nothing wrong with a Sean John tshirt, jeans or formalwear.

:whew:

very well said...

and those suits are nice...

Nowadays (past 4 years really) it seems white and black kids rocking the same "skater" streetwear shyt like Supreme, Obey, The Hundreds little bit of Alife. Still see some BBC clothing too and I think Crooks and Castle and 10 Deep are still hanging on out there..

I think the last of the "urban" Hip Hop gear still going was LRG

Thats kinda what everyone is rocking there. Got a little bit of that myself (Sweaters, Tees) but I've become less and less interested in fashion aside from grown man brands like Polo still and you see some nice shyt like from Diesel. Stuff thats a label but still kinda contemporary that fits you.

But from a younger standpoint its all boutique streetwear joints like that.

Gonna be funny if or when those streetwear brands try to expand and go into Macys and shyt or warehouse spots or discouints like TJ/TK Maxx (Although I wonder did that hurt Zoo York?). They probably wont to keep the exclusivity of their product. I almost imagine had Sean John done that along with modernize their designs they woulda been fine but that calls for extreme rebranding or basically saying you dont wanna make millions just to still look cool

But maybe someone who knows how the clothing business works can break it down better

That's the problem with urban appearal. We always try to just cash in and go straight to department stores and brands lose their appeal. Who's trying to rock some Sears shyt? :shaq2:

Streetwear keep their mystique by avoiding all that. Yeah, you don't make as much initially but you create a real fan base, not just a trend hopping one like black people love to do. That's why even with the Wayne co-sign I don't see trukfit going anywhere

It's available exclusively at Macy's now. It still sells well. Keep in mind it's branched off into formal wear, suits & even bedding so :ehh:

I wouldn't wear it but dudes between 35-50 love that shyt

yeah some of the formal wear is cool but everything Sean John is oversized for some reason:what:...it's like they are hanging on to the baggy trend or something...I'm 35 and Brooks Brothers is where it's at for me from now on....

True but I guess eventually you wanna expand and make money which was why Puff, Russell, Jay and them all got into it to begin with. Its always a fine line between making something cool but not too uncool when it gets more sales. shyts almost like music really

Nah. Sean John USED to be baggy, but they've gone away from it mostly. It's basically a slim fit, slim straight, straight fit jean maker now
